Yes, kimmy if I can find away to pull aliases it will be included as well.
Further notice, Buddy Spy 2.0 is released today.
I will continue working on this project for as long as people want it.
Please, anymore suggestions?
Thanks,
UnSaKreD
November 11, 2004 at 12:57 pm #71893kresnastraMembernot sure about the reliability… sometime when I check one of a buddy whose on the saved list… it said offline… then I cleared and spied individualy, it said online… or the otherway around… sometime it said offline, online and offline again, and online again just in seconds…
November 11, 2004 at 3:48 pm #71820aneagleParticipantUnsakred,
Here’s what I found about the 2.0:
-Single ID scan is perfect.
-Multiple ID scan: no webcam result for the 1st ID of the list.
when nth ID has his webcam on, it shows webcam off for nth ID but the n+1th ID got the webcam icon changed from grey to color and “webcam online” for 1 sec then back to “offline”November 12, 2004 at 10:12 am #71887martulinaMemberHi unSaKred,
Nice buddy spy but I can’t run it properly, I installed the MSCOMCTL.OCX but even so I cannot connect, it keeps on appearing that MSCOMCTL.OCX is not activated…any solution? And congratulations for your nice new unsakred generation!!!;)
Thanx!
November 14, 2004 at 1:32 am #71898chesterMemberFix for Run-time error ‘40006’ Wrong protocol or connection state for the requested transaction or request
I was getting that error when I was using Y!Invis, but haven’t had any trouble since updating my MSWINSCK.OCX file. travellerscross had the right idea in updating that file, however, the website he gave to download it has an outdated version which doesn’t resolve the problem.
That said, MSWINSCK.OCX is a known bug by Microsoft which they finally have a fix for. MSWINSCK.OCX is part of the Visual Basic 6 Runtimes files so after I explain how to download, then possibly UnSaKreD can make the file available on his website.
It’s kind of a pain in the butt to get the file though as they make you download 60mb
The fix Microsoft has now is MSWINSCK.OCX Version 6.1.97.82
After downloading this file, click on it and extract files to a temp directory. Then search for the zip file MSWINSCK. Open it up and you’ll find MSWINSCK.OCX Version 6.1.97.82
Be sure to register MSWINSCK.OCX after you replace and you should probably make a backup of the old file.
Windows 95, 98, or Me:
regsvr32 windowssystemMSWINSCK.OCXWindows NT or 2000:
regsvr32 WINNTsystem32MSWINSCK.OCXWindows XP:
regsvr32 windowssystem32MSWINSCK.OCXYou should see a message saying “DllRegisterServer … succeeded”
Additionally, this download includes the other files travellerscross mentioned in his post, but are the newest versions available. Be sure to backup old files and also remember to register this files after replacing old versions.
MSCOMCTL.OCX
COMDLG32.OCX
TABCTL32.OCX
UnSaKreD- Buddy Spy is a great program. Will you be providing looping of nicks so we don’t have to keep clicking to find out if still logged on and also a log of when user signed in and out like Y!Invis?
I would love to be able to find out other alias too as someone else requested.
P.S. Congrats on your baby
November 14, 2004 at 2:13 am #71714UnSaKreDMemberFuture releases of Buddy Spy
**********************Well, there has been a great response to this project.
And I would like to thank all of you who have contributed to its success.
I love hearing new ideas, and I am working on all of them that have been posted here.
In The Future, yes I will have it do a loop check.
I am in the midst of creating a new GUI for buddy spy, so I can add a lot more features to it.
I am debating on releasing the source code to the public, to have it be
more or less an open source project.
What do you all think?
Thanks for the feedback! Keep it coming!
November 14, 2004 at 2:47 am #71872takagenMemberwow open source. that would be cool.
this also means the possiblity on creating plugins for other IM program like miranda, etc.just like the ISee plugin to view invisible for ICQ.
November 14, 2004 at 4:31 am #71899chesterMemberI’m up for an AIM Spy Buddy version if it includes spying on AOL users. AOL used to have a loophole where you could find the status of an AOL user under their AIM java version. You could click on “Get Info” and it would show you if a user was logged on or not. Oddly, this feature never worked in the AIM software itself. Anyway, congrats on making the best buddy spy software around. Look forward to future releases.
P.S. I’m open to the idea of an open source code. Keep up the great work.
November 14, 2004 at 5:08 am #71715UnSaKreDMemberLike I said before, I am redoing the GUI, most likely after the gui upgrade.
I will release it as open source.
I am creating a Buddy Spy subdomain, for the project as well.
So far this is my Idea for the new GUI,
More of a classic windows application look.
Keep it? or no?
November 14, 2004 at 5:48 am #71900chesterMemberGUI looks good. I like the layout. Wouldn’t mind having an option to make the window smaller.
November 14, 2004 at 6:25 am #71843dan-i-amMemberSo I’ve been using this from the beginning and the progress is awesome…. a few notes….
2.0
Seems to have a bug when clearing the list.. sometimes clearing the list will close the programWould be great if you could allow us to press “enter” after we type in a name to scan rather than having to move to the mouse and press “check”.
Also.. this may or may not be a program problem.. I recently used it and found a person in a room called “The Safe Room:1” . I used Yahelite to do a scan of ALL rooms and could not find this room anywhere. Is this a BuddySpy thing (I doubt it) or a Yahoo Room I can’t find?
Thanks for this awesome program..

November 14, 2004 at 7:51 am #71716UnSaKreDMemberThis is what I am thinking for a view of online/room/webcam etc.
What do you think?
Use Status Icons or no?
Sometimes just plain text, there is a less chance of confusement.
Second Screen Shot, no Icons.
November 14, 2004 at 9:25 am #71844dan-i-amMemberPersonally, I like the second one with plain text. In the new layout the icons would be too bulky.
November 14, 2004 at 12:24 pm #71717UnSaKreDMemberI agree it doesnt quite compliment the rest of the GUI, so I will be sticking with the second picture.
I just found a new packet for checking status as being online or offline.
And also from what I can tell, I will be able to tell you if they are using the Messenger client or not.
But further research will be needed on that.
Should, I add this option in further builds?
November 14, 2004 at 3:21 pm #71901chesterMemberHonestly, I don’t like either one of the new GUI’s for user info. I like the original version the best. However, the new GUI for the left hand panel looks great though where you show, Home, Configure, Buddy Spy, etc.
Come to think of it though, I understand why you’re doing it across now so you can view more names which makes sense. I think it’s the grid lines I’m not a fan of or maybe just takes time adjusting to.
