Memberyea i have had the same problem for hours now. My friends can sign in but i cant. i have 2 email addresses beginning with the letter “c” and they both dont work. i even purposely put in false paaswords in them to see if it was a password problem but that wasnt the case It must be a problem on msn. but does any notice that u can sign into ur hotmail inbox just fine but its like when ur siging into messenger it says “sigining-in”, but then a few seconds later it just goes right back to the “Click here to sign in screen”….and i got an error message “Signin in to .NET Messenger Service failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. 0x81000314.” Before i was gettin the 0x81000301, but now im get the 0x81000314 error. And how does one go about acutally contacting msn about the problem, i can’t find a way to do so.

MemberI had the same problem yesterday trying to log in to MSN Messenger. I was able to log in less than thirty minutes or so. I guess it was at Microsoft’s end, not ours.

Memberthis may be the solution for all your problems. go to run and type in:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
it worked for me and hopefully for you

Member:)Hi monkey tamer!
Sorry for this stupid question, but does “regsvr32 softpub.dll” also work on a non-Englisch opererating system? I got a German version of MSN Messenger – an I got the same problems as you have 🙂
Thank you for your help!

KeymasterHas anyone got a solution to this problem yet? I have been able to sign on only once with 6.1 but I can use 5.0 happily. Any ideas?
Thanks

MemberHi, I have the same error as you guys but I’m using a completely different system. My specs are: –
Windows 2000
Http Proxy signon
Firewall
Windows Messenger 6.1I do not have msn messenger installed.
My internet connection is usually, initially slow for about 30 seconds & then almost instant. The error occurs withing 3-5 seconds of clicking on sign in.I’m guessing this is a timeout issue for my version of the problem. Does anyone know how to change this so it attempts to connect for about 1min 30secs?
Or if anyone has a different idea, please reply as anything is helpful at the moment.
