The only support I can now give is request you to upgrade your copy to the newest. There should be an automatic install request.

Dear sophi,
After listening to and acting on your feedback, we have made MSN Messenger version 7 even better. The new build was made available to you as of the 18th of November. Please test and submit your feedback and bugs on this new build.
Top fixes in this version:
Winks are enabled
Fixed: Limit to the number of downloaded emoticons
Fixed: Dragging and dropping ungrouped contacts into a new group will result in a crash
Fixed: Messenger doesn’t trigger new e-mail sync in MSN 9.1 Client
And many more
Steps to install the refresh:
Unlike the previous refresh, this refreshed build will be automatically installed on your computer. All you need to do is to click “OK” when you see a message dialog that states
“A newer version is available. You must install the newer version in order to continue. Would you like to do this now?”
After the new build is installed, you can sign back in and start testing! If you have any problems, observations or suggestions regarding this upgrade experience, we’d like to hear about it.
NOTE: You may be prompted to reboot after the silent upgrade has finished so please make sure to save any unsaved data before starting the download.
Thanks for your continued support! We appreciate your feedback.

It’s quite simple if you read the email again.
