New Yahoo! Messenger 7.0 (BETA)

Okay well the way to do that was posted in the link below in a differen thread, but i can't find it to work for this version of yahoo messenger, the text file doesn't come up as an option.

Changing the name will work, but the (BETA) still stays on the end of whatever you put in there.

When i run a search of “ymsgr.ini” only the configuration setting comes up and before when i had 6.0 and i did that, i would get the .txt file.

After getting there open the folder called messenger and scroll all the way down and look for the .txt file called ymsgr

I can't find it the way i did before or any other way i seem to try. So i thought maybe it wouldn't work with this version of messenger, but since other people have got it to work i shall keep trying new ways.

It keeps crashing on me. Whenever I try to change my status, click on one of the menu buttons, or the menus in the message box…crash. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling…but it's still Beta.

I was having the same exact problem, and I posted a link. Amy, a Yahoo! Advisor asked if i was running Windows Blinds, which I was. You will need to go into WindowsBlinds and do a per application setting exclusion. It's the top check mark for total exclusion. After you do it, you will need to close down and exit Yahoo! Messenger, and sign in again. It should work now!!

Anyone know how to fix the problem with clicking links in a chatroom? An IE script error comes up.

byroan, please take time to report to yahoo thru the feedback form the bug/problem you encoutered while using the beta messenger. it will help Yahoo! in correcting the said problem in the next release.
