Hmmm, not sure why it won't work for you… what do you mean the text file doesn't come up as an option?
Changing the name will work, but the (BETA) still stays on the end of whatever you put in there.

When i run a search of “ymsgr.ini” only the configuration setting comes up and before when i had 6.0 and i did that, i would get the .txt file. After getting there open the folder called messenger and scroll all the way down and look for the .txt file called ymsgr
I can't find it the way i did before or any other way i seem to try. So i thought maybe it wouldn't work with this version of messenger, but since other people have got it to work i shall keep trying new ways.

Memberthe best way at the moment is to use a hex editor on YPager.exe and remove the beta tag…. what we really need is a patch (both MSN & AIM has them) that patches certain things like the beta tags, search bar in the IMs/Chats, toolbar buttons on the main messenger window, and polygamy…… Yah!Patch is a good name for one of these programs….it seems to me people dont pay attention to yahoo like they do MSN and AIM….

Tried uninstalling/reinstalling…but it's still Beta.I was having the same exact problem, and I posted a link. Amy, a Yahoo! Advisor asked if i was running Windows Blinds, which I was. You will need to go into WindowsBlinds and do a per application setting exclusion. It's the top check mark for total exclusion. After you do it, you will need to close down and exit Yahoo! Messenger, and sign in again. It should work now!!

ParticipantThere is one way to bypass this.
When you click the link…and get script error..
leave script error box open then click link in room again..
it should open now.

MemberWould anyone know why I can run ymulti gold with no problem but when I try to use the generic polygram I keep getting a ypager.exe error?
The actual error is as follows : File not found or File access error.
It happens on the beta versions and non-beta versions.
I am interested in running the generic because right now ymulti is not working with the new beta yahoo.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it .
Thanks!
Carrie

MemberCarrie, with yahoo's latest patch a lot of programs are not working. However I know there is a new multi messenger that is specifically designed for 6.0 and 7.0, and works with the newest version of messenger.
You may want to google it ad see if you can find one that is dated after May 11th.
The generic multi's may also not work because of the yahoo patch. Part of the patch was chaging the way yahoo loggs in, which of course would affect any program that you would need to log into.

MemberThe thing that I don't care for on the new messenger is the search window in the IM/Chat windows.
