MemberYou should’ve signed the paper on her locker. Thats what I did too the girl I liked. Wrote happy birthday on it and signed my name. But ya, I agree with Oreo. I would bring it up so you can tell her how you said happy b-day and she didn’t hear. If you want this girl, your going to have to talk to her. =) And if you still don’t want too, I’m thinking you should use your friends and have them help you out in this, since they seem to be willing to talk to her.

KeymasterMan AwesomeSauce…don’t let opportunities pass by dude. You think you’re gonna go the rest through your high school years trying to tell a girl you like her? The girl might like you man and if you take so long to take the first step, she’ll grow tired of waiting and move. How do I know she might be waiting to begin with? Back in junior high I was the shyest kid, I liked this girl Amy. For a year I liked her and didn’t tell her because I was afraid of her saying no. That same year I later found out she got a bf and I asked her friend who’s the guy and she said “You know if you would have asked her she would have said yes and you would have been that guy”. I felt like an idiot. Ever since then I forced myself to stop being shy about that kind of thing.
You have nothing to lose. A no won’t kill you and a yes would be music to your ears. Enough waiting I say. You gotta make your move dude. Do it this week and do it face to face, not over phone or a letter. If this topic goes to page 4 on my computer and you haven’t asked her out on a date or told her how you feel, I’ll do a smackdown on you. lol. DO IT! Don’t end up being the guy looking at her with another guy telling yourself “That could have been me”.

ParticipantOuch… I mean… good advice.
Tomorrow there’s gonna be a harvest dance – another one of those stupid Middle school “Dances”(if you know what I mean). I know, last time, I wasn’t near as prepared as I am now. Sure, I’m still really nervous… but I’m gonna force myself to do something to get out of this mess. Just kindly walk up to her and ask her to dance. No big deal… or is it? to me, it really is of course.
And BTW, thank you all for caring. And I’m sorry that I’ve been so stubborn… it’s impossible to explain what I’m going through, so some of you don’t know what I’m going through; and some of you do. 🙂 Kthx.

KeymasterI was wondering what happened to you. I’m just trying to give you that push although I know it’s up to you. I’ve been in your place as you can see. It’s alright to be nervous just as long as it doesn’t stop you from doing something that you want to do. I wish you the best dude.
In the words of that weird guy in the movie waterboy (bad movie I know)…You Can Do It!

MemberYou’ll be fine…just don’t psyche yourself out too much. I think EVERYONE has been in your position (at least if they are/have been as old as you…it’s a hard time in life…but it prepares you for worse crap later on…but I don’t want to freak you out…so just don’t think about that ;)) It’s a tough thing…but it’s like that old band aid…RIP IT OFF..get it over. I remember the guy that I wanted to like me FOREVER (in 7th, 8th and 9th…it seemed like forever) and then he started to like me…but not until the end of the year…so we went to different high schools and we never saw each other again. He waited too long…and of course the majority of 9th graders don’t have driver’s licenses. There are a LOT of us that are watching this thread MISTER…now get out there and make it happen! (You are like one of those TV shows that keeps going into “To Be Continued” We want our season finale darn it!) Don’t think I’m trying to put pressure on you…you are doing just FINE in that department! 😉 Just enjoy the dance and don’t focus on this too much…I mean…what if she doesn’t go? Maybe you could even see her in the hall and just be like “Hey, are you going to the dance?” If she says “No.” You can be like “OH…you really should go!!” Or if she says “Yes.” You could say “Well, I’ll see you there then!” 😀
EDIT: SOOOO….it’s almost been one week….what happened at this dance?

Nothing. I saw her there, but I was still too nervous to approach her. But I guess I have no reason to complain, since it’s my fault. I’m pretty sure she didn’t dance with anyone, and I never see her hang out with boys anyway.
However, this December I’m planning on giving her something for Christmas. I’m gonna leave a small gift on her porch with her name on it, ring the Doorbell, and “BOOK IT!”/run far away as fast as I can. It’ll be fun… I’ll get one of my friends to come with me. Anyway, inside of the gift I leave her, there might be a note that says something like “Love: You-(may, but probably don’t)know-who”; I don’t think I want to give her my name just yet… though she knows my name anyway, she still wouldn’t be sure who it is.. but since she knows that I like her, I think she would have a clue.

Participant*giggle* sound like an early May Day Basket almost. You know that whole deal right, the may day basket? I always thought it was adorable when kids did that. One year this little kid I knew who was in elementary school made me one in class and rang the doorbell and booked it…so naturally I did my part and ran like the dickens after him. I let him get away by the skin of his teeth, but it was still cute.

ParticipantOk, a lot has been going on concerning this topic over the last couple of weeks… I’ve just been too lazy to post. But now that I have time, I’ll explain everything.
Ok, so a couple of weeks ago, this girl I don’t even know adds me to her MSN contact list. And I found out she goes to my school, is in none of my classes and apparently, her name is “Shindy”. After making smalltalk for a little bit, I asked “Shindy” about the girl that I like(however, I didn’t tell her yet that I actually had a crush on the girl). I asked her if there were any boys that liked her and Shindy said “Yeah, there’s this boy named Dan that she’s always talking about… do you know him?” and I’m like “uhh… yeah, that would be me” and I was getting really excited by that point, ok? (And one of my friends has really been helping me out on this, and he asked my crush if she really liked me, and apperantly, she’s obsessed with me. And, she wishes I would talk to her.)
And after talking to Shindy about my crush for a while, I found out that this girl Shindy likes me, too. I didn’t show it, but I was kind of frusterated now that there were two (2) girls that liked me now… and I didn’t want to make Shindy feel bad, so I was nice to her.
Anyway, after being kind of frusterated about this girl for a while, I began to think that…
Maybe this “Shindy” is really the girl that I like, and she’s just been playing tricks on me? Because:
1) I asked a lot of people at school if they knew anyone with her name, and every single one of them said No. I even asked my crush’s friend if she knew a girl named Shindy, and she said No. I told her to ask my crush(though I didn’t tell her that I actually liked the girl) if she knew a girl named Shindy. She said she would, and I’ll ask her what she said tomorrow.
2) Wouldn’t this “Shindy” have confronted me or even said Hi to me at school by now? if she really likes me, howcome she hasn’t said anything to me yet? I even asked her to say something to me at school sometime, but she hasn’t. She doesn’t seem shy, either.
So far, to me, this girl doesn’t exist. But, I’m still doing some detective work. How do you think I could prove it?

MemberI’ve never heard of the name “Shindy” in my life, though I’ve been surprised by a few doosies in my time as a teacher. Why don’t you ask your crush? It sounds like it was her, one of her friends OR one of YOUR friends playing something with you. And, COME ON, if you can talk to her friend you can talk to her. Seriously, there’s a saying “Pi** or get off the pot.” 😀

ParticipantDon’t worry about it, nobody ever asked me to dance at the dances either.
Five years later, and I still have never danced with anyone, anywhere. It’s really no big deal to be honest. :p

KeymasterCool AwesomeSauce. That Shindy has to be her! Make your move on the girl you like! She apparently wants you to tell her already. Let’s bring this to a happy ending. Then we can all cheer for you here. hehe.
Anna, hmm that’s odd. I don’t know you, but I saw your pic on the “faces behind the posts” topic. I can’t see why you wouldn’t get asked to a dance. You look pretty (which in my language basically means you’re more than just pretty :P) and you have that kind of fun person type face. (if that makes sense).
Edit: Changed the word hot to more than pretty. Don’t want to sound like every other guy out there. lol @ not knowing how to dance anyways. Oh well they’re missing out wherever you live. 🙂 I’ll end this here before I’m told to stay on topic.

I guess so, because when I asked “Shindy” who her friends were, I recognized one of the names… so I asked Shindy’s friend today if she knew a girl named Shindy, and she just shook her head and glared at me… OK, I’m not exactly sure what that’s supposed to mean, but I think it’s a no. Anyway, I think it’s this thing is pretty obvious now.
