MemberI got myself one with a 512mb card, its just awsome with the graphics and its versatility. You can put videos on your card as long as they are converted to mp4, access wi-fi points to play other people or play with a friend nearby.
Anyone else get one and what did you think?

ParticipantI am not planning on purchasing a PSP in the near future for a few reasons. Reason 1, price, why would I want to blow my hard earned cash on an overpriced handheld, if anything I’ll wait until they lower it a few times… Reason 2, has anyone noticed how sony has re-released all their gaming systems (playstation-PSone, PS2-the new “more capable” PS2) I beileve this isnt just a cheap way for them to sell more of their products, I think its becuase they always find something wrong witht the original. Reason 3, this is sony’s first handheld, we’ve never seen anything like this from them, so no one can tell how it will do a few years down the road, beside the battery life isnt the best, horrible screen protection, the UMD motor is moving, so there are possibilties there of it braking more easily, also they could have made better battery life by, modifing the the wireless 802.11 B standard, lowering the CPU (all that power isnt needed) and lowering the graphics, yeah it looks nice, but it is a handheld. Those are just some of my opinions/facts on why I won’t be getting the PSP soon.

ParticipantI just love my PSP. It is so much fun to go play online with others. The price wasn’t a big issue, I just sold all my Gameboy stuff because I wouldn’t use them anymore. The battery life isn’t really bad at all. It has 6 hours of Gaming/Movie Watching Time. And if you are just listening to music then you have longer. The graphics are just like a PS2’s (or almost). I am going to get a 256 MB Memory Stick by trading my MP3 player for the money. I don’t need an MP3 player if I have a PSP. I also don’t need a Portible DVD player either. For me just having a PSP (and a Radio Walkman) is all I need for portible entertainment.
P.S You could also of known I had one by my Avatar

Participant“PSP – Dead pixels, bad UMD disks, bad accu, expensive, no return for dead pixels, no support and bad keys. COME ON ALL, BUY A PSP!” <3 Huff 😀

ParticipantAcually I have had no problems with mine, nor has my 2 other friends who have them. I have Twisted Metal and Ape Escape: On The Loose, My Screen Name on Twisted Metal is MrEggsalad if any of you have that then you can know that you are playing me. The bad PSP’s were only the first ones released in Japan. No one in America that got a PSP after March 24 had any problems that they have reported on any shopping sites. As I see it Sony fixed them before they came to America. If you sell your Gameboy Stuff that will help bring the cost down a lot.
***PSP is not defective nor are the disks, buttons, and the pixels are fine. They are way better than everyone says, The battery life is 6 hours, with The Wi-Fi on and playing games.***April 3, 2005 at 11:18 pm #117619detn8r
ParticipantBecause you never experienced any of the problems listed above, you can say for all units, that there is no problem? Pahlease.

ParticipantBefore you post here make sure you have a PSP before you post. You can’t just judge based on the reviews you have read. This post is for people who have a PSP and are writing a review about what their experiences are with it. Me and my friends and ys8er2323 have had no problems with ours and I haven’t read any reviews that says a person that got an American PSP after or on March 24th has had any problems with it, btw Price isn’t a problem, the only thing it can be (which it isn’t always) is an “obsticle”. I am not saying all PSP’s don’t have problems, I am saying with the 4 I know of they are just fine.
***And just to set something straight, Sony doesn’t find things wrong with their current system, they just rebuild it differently, and add like 1 or 2 new features.***April 4, 2005 at 12:08 am #117627EEDOK
MemberPSP is sony’s 2nd handheld.. The first one was a major flop that only supported part of FF8..

not complain over something you don’t have.

KeymasterI saw it and it is a pretty sexy device. If I had money to throw away I probably would get it if it was $150 at most but I know they’ll never sell it for that little.

ParticipantHooooooollllllld up ladies. This is a public discussion board. Regardless of what you think of your hardware, give it a rest thx.
As said, you cannot speak on behalf of all units sold in North America. That being said, who are you to say that absolutly no one has had complaints about the device?
Who are you to even say I do not have one? Listen to me, PSP’s are new on the market. Just because you have not had a dead pixel within the month of having it, means you are invincable to the issue? Your ignorance humors me.
When I bought my iPod I thought the world of it. I never had any problems, and all the reviews I read were jokes. Then guess what? One day I try to use it, and the ^%$@*in think doesn’t turn on. ;o the reviews were right! OMGWTFBBQ?!?!!?11
If you are going to limit people who only own the device, have fun. Not everyone can afford a $350 gaming system from mommy and daddies credit cards.

Its $250, and plus dont go talking about our money. I have a job and thats my income. Plus, the psp will run as good as you take care of it. For example constantly playing it for 8 hours could cause pixelation problems or even burned images.

Take 50 bucks from the unit, giving it 310 dollars, plus 15% ontario sales tax… were looking at 350+ dollars. to think these things are sold outside of the united states and japan. WOW.
Please do not insult my intelligence.
EDIT. my bad. looks like buying a game with it is even cheaper. The device alone is 399 bucks plus 15% sales tax. go figure.
