Memberyea……………
I went to my local target and got one for $260 including tax. This is US dollars I am talking about here.

Participantkk.. 260 USD = roughly 316 CDN, + CDN tax, + shipping were still looking at over 400 bucks. regardless which way you look at it, Sony gives no support for what I stated above and the damn thing is WAY (x50) too expensive for the average teenager.
Why some united staters believe that things are only centered around them? (believe me, no pun intended ;))

Participantys8er2323 wrote:Its $250, and plus dont go talking about our money. I have a job and thats my income. Plus, the psp will run as good as you take care of it. For example constantly playing it for 8 hours could cause pixelation problems or even burned images.Really? Then it’s poorly designed, if I buy something for that much, I expect it to not deteriorate over a short time. Do you think that my $300 LCD display for my computer is going to have burned images after using it for 8 hours? I should hope not.
Way to go, Sony.

But i suppose there are some people that play way too much and overwork their psp.

ParticipantDo you enjoy taking things out of context?
1 – READ carefully what I post. To buy a PSP in Canada, it’s $399 + taxes (15% in Ontario, gives you $458.85). If I were to buy it from the United States from Target, I would pay $260 + shipping to Canada (which is not cheap BTW) plus the 15% taxes. I’ll let you just THINK about the math on that one.
2 – your average teenager works 18 hours a week at an average of $7 per hour. I know where I live, video games are being over powered by bigger and more expensive clothing lines and drugs. That means, parents won’t spend the $40-50 for a t-shirt that says “Shady” or “G-Unit” on it. THAT meaning, kids are going to save up for this. Who goes to the mall with a hundred bucks now a days?
3 – These hand helds at their price are not targeted at kids aged 13-15. If kids do that age want them, they are coming from their parents pocket. If anyone over the age of 16 wants one (after saving up for a car, insurance, clothes, weed, shoes, $ for their girlfriends/boyfriends…) geeze, I can go on.
Hand helds are out. Admit it. MP3 players are up, and they will be ‘UP’ for a while. Sony’s MP3 player stood nothing against Creative, Apple and iRiver, so why not try and target something to teens who make an average $120-150 bucks a week (after their own expensises).
Oh, and as for the support… try looking into it. What if you went on a trip with your school to another State and you bring your hand held with you for bus ride entertainment. 8 hours easy after friends harassing you to try it. Burn it out. Oh well? How nice 🙂

MemberBattery only lasts 3-4 hours, 8 hours is my guess that it will start burning.

ParticipantThe fact is, ys8er2323 you have nothing left to bring up. I never said you couldn’t enjoy what your hard earned cash paid for. Next time give me something more difficult to own you over <3

Plus the fact you prob. spend your money on drugs as you were saying.April 4, 2005 at 11:51 am #117647MrEggsalad
ParticipantHey, Detn8r, stop putting it down. This post (as I have said before) is for people who have one and are giving their reviews on it. Not for people to keep saying it is a way overpriced, bloated Handheld for like 8 posts, let it go already. Me ( and I am sure many others ) want to see reviews so they can use those based on buying one. They don’t want to see:
detn8r wrote:“PSP – Dead pixels, bad UMD disks, bad accu, expensive, no return for dead pixels, no support and bad keys. COME ON ALL, BUY A PSP!” <3 Huff 😀I think you get my point, btw me and my cousin did some tests and with a fully charged normal battery the PSP can last for 6 hours. We counted every hour. If you can, tell me how long yours will last for while playing a game.
ThanksApril 4, 2005 at 12:32 pm #117609Jeff Hester
KeymasterAll this debating doesn’t sound much like one of you is going to buy me one and I think I deserve it. I’m a nice guy, I brush my teeth, and help old ladies cross the street. Anybody interested in buying me one send me a private message. Thanks! *chuckles* 🙂

That is a type of review, not just a postitive one.
EEDOK wrote:PSP is sony’s 2nd handheld.. The first one was a major flop that only supported part of FF8..
My bad, then if this is their second and their first was so bad, then we can get an impression of how the this one will be.April 4, 2005 at 9:34 pm #117648MrEggsalad
ParticipantOK, you are right, but you need to be more specific and acually have one to say stuff like that if it happens to yours. I think we would rather see something like this: Ex: After a week I saw there were dead pixels, like the entire screen has a bunch of dead pixels all around it, my disks went bad like they froze all the time, the buttons didn’t always work, and I got no replacement for my dead pixels on it. *This is based on the other “review” by detn8r
(This is just an example, my PSP is just fine and everything is great and works wonderfully)I think that is what people would rather hear and not have something like COME ON ALL, BUY A PSP!! 😀 at the end as a joke after you say it is like horrible.
Also remeber that saying “First is worst, Second’s best…..”
!*!*!*!*HAVE a PSP before you post on this thread. But I think we wouldn’t mind if you said why you wanted one. Remember what your parents told you: “If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all”!*!*!*!*Oh and btw, MiamiGuy, maybe you can save little by little for it. Or if you still(unless you never got one) have your gameboy/otherhandhelds you don’t play anymore then you can sell it and all it’s games, that is how I afforded mine 😉 Or you might get lucky and someone will buy you one!
