Web based MSN Messenger??

This computer admin of my school is stalking me to every msn website i go to. first he block mister-i, then he blocked odigo, but i still have a way to bypass it. he really piss me off. if anyone with the messing-up-the-system skill, please tell me what is the best way to get my revenge..

I have received emails from a few people and since the skeleton of my proposed msnMessenger2Go! at http://kickme.to/msnmessenger2go has been generating much hits, I decided to continue with this little project. However, I can’t promise when will it be completed and when will it be fully functional. As soon as I have done the coding, done the neccessary testing, got the server (if anyone would like to provide server space please email me)…etc..etc… then I will post a message on this forum again. I aimed to provide this service as free of charge (as long as I can afford it :~) ).

I have not been able to get the site to work at all. When I try to login, it just sits at the sign in screen forever. Has anyone else had success using this? Anyone else besides me having problems with it?

And DK, resubmit your link to our directory when the site is ready. I don’t link to sites that are “under construction.”

I tried out the web based lycos messenger and although it takes a while to load up on dial up it works pretty well then other web based messengers I have seen.
On broadband (tried this out at the library) It justs zips through and through. I definitely liked it.

I also tried out the application and if I aint wrong it uses the internet explorer engine

I definitly agree, BUT ICQ2Go loads even slower, even on my schools computers….. so, well as long as it works…. its all good. The thing I like even more now, is that I can connect to ICQ2Go, AIM express (I think thats what its called) and now MSN & Yahoo! together on Lycos Messenger. And no need to download a thing!

Ive had problems connecting when I put in my ID info when first asked to. What I had to do, was click on networks in the menu at the bottom of the contact list, and enter the information thru there. Is that what you were doing? Entering the ID info when it pops its own screen up, or you clikcing on networks in the contact list?

I assumed that you are trying to use Lycos Messenger in your school (maybe in your company). If your school or company administrator has disable ActiveX then you will not be able to “see” Network Setting option and therefore you can only add Lycos user in your Add Contact option. There will be no MSN or Yahoo for you to choose. Try enable the ActiveX in the Internet Option -> Security section. Although I think that even if you enable it, it still doesn’t work if your administrator also prevent installation on the computers. I have tried that myself but it might be different for your case so just try it and let us know.

However, ActiveX might not even be the actual problem. It might be something else. Anyone has any other input?
