MemberGreat Work Jared! I have seen that other web based msn IMs like Odigo require Virtual Machine to be installed which at 4.7 MB is as huge as the MSN messenger to download. http://www.wbmsn.com does’nt need any downloads and is fast. One suggestion though -Please release the non-script version and hopefully I can IM with my pocket PC which runs on Windows CE 2.0 and has Pocket IE (no java). Right now-I can log in and check who is online but not actually send messages which in iteslf is great! Thanks

Sad thing is that I think I know EXACTLY which school this is…
One of the first schools in North America and the world to institute a laptop program, and they mishandled Internet filtering TERRIBLY.

MemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by DKHello again guys,
I have received emails from a few people and since the skeleton of my proposed msnMessenger2Go! at http://kickme.to/msnmessenger2go has been generating much hits, I decided to continue with this little project. However, I can’t promise when will it be completed and when will it be fully functional. As soon as I have done the coding, done the neccessary testing, got the server (if anyone would like to provide server space please email me)…etc..etc… then I will post a message on this forum again. I aimed to provide this service as free of charge (as long as I can afford it :~) ).
Please check back the site and bookmark it. Send any feedback and suggestion to email address provided in the site

MemberI know these web-based MSN messengers are helpful for newer computers, but does anybody know a web-based MSN messenger that can talk to people that have a downloaded MSN for a Macintosh OS 8.1 computer? Our computer doesn’t have enough room to download one!

MemberMy school limits downloading of certain files so i have zipped up my messenger folder, renamed it to a downloadable file type and downloaded it and it works fine. Give it a try http://www.msndownload.da.ru and when you get the prompt to save as choose to save it as a zip file. Then just unzip it to where ever you want it and it should work. Let me know if anyone tries this, its worked for everyone here 😀

Memberyer thats all good and fine man but what if your school/work has blocked the port msn messenger uses?
October 4, 2003 at 3:06 pm #64966chris110
MemberIm not an expert on this thing but as far as i know MSN uses port 1863, but if it cant connect (possibly because the port is blocked) it will automatically try to use port 80 which is used by internet explorer itself so they wont be able to block it 😉 (Correct me if im wrong)

MemberThere is a version of MSN Messenger which is web based. The shte address for this is:
If you click the sign in button, a window pops up, so make sure if you have Netscape, the pop ups are enabled. I had experienced a few problems using the current version of the program, however in the pop up window that i mentioned, there is another link which says ‘Click here for Old Version’ If you click that link, another pop up appears and everything seems to work fine in that version.
