July 23, 2006 at 10:24 am in reply to: And the Yahoo! Server goes down… (currently now working!) #148634abra1754Participant
Another posting newbie here. Been following this thread since it began. I can finally log into Y!Messenger again. My email had been fine all along, but I think I must'[ve de/reinstalled at least the last hundred versions of Y!M yesterday and last night before I remembered to come here and check. 😮
abra1754ParticipantLurker delurking to say…boy, I never thought I’d be happy to hear the server is down. I’ve been trying to get in for hours now on 2 different computers. I even deinstalled and reinstalled several different versions.
Thanks for the info.
abra1754ParticipantI started another thread about this last week and followed all the instructions folks were nice enough to suggest. nothing works. I still can’t download a new version. I still have desktop icons that show AOLsetup and Triton. They also show up in my list of programs from the Start menu, yet I can’t access them.
Does anyone know if this is some AOL problem as opposed to all of us individual users?
abra1754ParticipantSorry to be such a pain! I started deleting the folder, but get this message:
>>Cannot delete aim.exe: Access denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.<<The only way Aim could ‘currently be in use’ is if WebAIM counts.
Thanks yet again.
abra1754ParticipantThanks! Okay, step 1 completed. However, in the Program Files folder, I still see:
aim (with the ‘running gold guy’ icon)
other files with ‘aim’ in the subject and the ‘.dll’ suffix. What should I try next?
