ParticipantYou’re using Windowblinds right? 😉
Go into Windowblinds and set a per application setting telling it to completely ignore Yahoo Messenger, and you should be fine.

ParticipantI have not heard anything about any glitches with changing skins in any version of Yahoo, what I would suggest is doing a complete uninstall and reinstall and see if that fixes the problem. Let us know how it goes.

ParticipantI have noticed this as well… if you open a new IM window and send a link it doesn’t go through. What I have always done is… send them a message, have them reply, and then try and send the link. It has always worked for me. Seems you have to be in a two-way conversation with someone before you can send a link.

ParticipantHere’s my latest desktop… I got bored one day and re-did the whole thing.

ParticipantYou will definitley be missed around here, I hope everything works out for you. I never really got the chance to get to know you too well but from what I gather you are a very strong woman and I know you’ll make it through this ok… Good luck, keep your head up and keep us posted whenever you can.

ParticipantUsually what happens is you end up with either one extra or one too few folders. After you install a skin, check in the Graphics folder and make sure there is a folder for the skin you just installed. Directly inside that folder, there should be all the images, about 70ish files, NOT another folder. Hope this helps.

ParticipantWell it is a desktop, and yes all my power settings are set to never. I still can’t for the life of me figure out why this started doing this all of a sudden, no hardware/software changes etc. I tried the safe mode idea, it would not allow me to hibernate (not an option). So unless anybody has any other ideas, I guess I’ll just live with it. Not a big deal anyways. 🙂
Thanks for the replies!

ParticipantI’m not sure I would agree that over three hours a day on your computer would be cause for concern… If so then I am definitley an addict. I do spend a lot of time online, but at the same time I do not let it interfere with my real-life responsibilities, friends or family.
Here’s a test I found that is supposed to tell you if you have a problem.
Internet Addiction Test
My score was 40.20 – 49 points: You are an average on-line user. You may surf the Web a bit too long at times, but you have control over your usage.

Yeah having to not download another program is nice, but i prefer being able to add a message.Actually you can add a message with this trick… Just type in your message and add À€47À€2 at the end of it, and your status message will show with the little idle clock next to your name.

ParticipantI’ve tried this out and it works great… I am kind of curious as to how it handles the idle timer, how it shows “xxx has been idle for x minutes”, I will have to play around with it a bit later. Thanks for sharing this, this definitley looks much easier than the fake idle plugins etc.

ParticipantI have never used Yahoo personals, so I’m not sure exactly, but what it sounds like is that the user you are trying to contact has it set that they only want to be contacted through email, they may not even have Yahoo messenger installed, or simply prefer not to use it for this purpose. In any case I don’t think there is any way to get around that. Only thing I could suggest is contact them through email, and ask them to contact you through messenger. Again I have never used this service so I apologize if I am way off on anything, but I hope this helps.

ParticipantI would be interested in giving this a try, I love my Gmail. I meant to reply to this post earlier, my life is still kinda crazy right now, psycho ex and all but meh…. anyway, my name, Amy Garbenus, and an alias of Queeeenofspadez please?

ParticipantThanks for the reply williamlee! No, I am the only one here, no one to turn it back on. I have looked at the power management properties but everything looks ok as far as I can see unless I am missing something. I use ZoneAlarm, as well as AVG Anitvirus, Spybot S&D, AdAware and MS Antispyware, my system turns up clean everytime, so I don’t think I have any security problems.
