Does your computer go into a sleep mode when you don’t use it for a while? I have a laptop, and after a certain period of inactivity it does that and logs me off messenger…

What happens is it locks your buddy list and you cannot make any changes whatsoever… you delete them and it either does nothing or just removes them until the next time messenger gets refreshed, then they pop right back up.
The smiley 6 is a simple exe application, doesn’t need to replace anything. Just double-click to open it and you will get the window with two buttons, hide and exit. Hide it, and there will be an icon in your tray at the bottom of the screen, when you want to use a smiley, click on that icon and the smiley menu comes up, just pick which one you want to use… make sure the IM window or chat window you want to use it in is on top… that’s it!
Yep just give it a day or so… it will straighten out. You just tried to add too many people to your list in one day. When I changed my yahoo ID it took me about 3 or 4 days to get about 30 people transferred from my old list to the new one… since then I have had no problems with new contacts.
Did you recently make a new ID and try to add all your old buddies back to it? When I did that and tried to re-add everyone, I had the same problem, couldn’t add, delete or move anyone from group to group after about 10 or 15 people. I guess it’s a yahoo thing, daily limit or something. It takes a day or so and then it goes back to normal, but it seems like for the next few days after this happens it’s kinda picky and you can only add a few people a day….
What version of messenger are you running? The old one had an option to display by nickname or by yahoo ID… check that, also right click on a buddy and pick contact details to see if the info is still there….
There is a program called smiley 6 that gives you a separate menu for all the smileys (including the hidden ones you can’t see thru messenger) at the bottom of the screen… don’t know if it would work but it’s worth a try… I think it is up for download at http://www.cool-yahoo.com Try that and see how it goes….
Sure guys… glad you like them. I’m going to start working on some new ones soon. Also all of my skins are now available at http://www.cool-yahoo.com as self extracting files, seems like a lot of people have problems unzipping or putting them in the proper locations… hope this helps! 😉

Also I changed the content tab icons and took out the shadows… they looked kinda ugly on a dark background… download and see a before & after at my site…
untamedcreation, are you talking about the tabs on the top (tabs_standard) or bottom (tabs)? not sure what you mean… you can look at my skins to see how I did them both… I have them at http://www.geocities.com/messenger_skins_6 ,as well as another post in this forum somewhere…..
