Have had the same problem for a while, too. Not sure what’s going on with it, I’ve put in a certain field for the search like just ‘females’ and STILL said there were 0 results.. When you know there’d be no telling how many results…. Damn Yahoo! Anyone else?

I am guessing there aren’t really any big changes in this newest version? Or have I guessed wrong…? lol
Don’t want to sound “mean” or anything. But we can’t help you if you don’t give a little more descriptive question.. Such as what exactly is wrong? Do any errors come up? Something not working could mean alot of things.
Personally, I find Meebo.com to be a better option for those that still want basic Yahoo messenger features, without having to install the actual program.

Like most people have mentioned, people should be spending more time sending/making complaints about the bots.. I have gone into rooms that had, say, 45 people, probably at the most 5 of them were real, the rest were bots.
It doesn’t really bother me that they took the GO TO/Follow user options away, I never really used it and had found quite a few times where people would use it to follow me to certain rooms (when I didn’t want them, too).
Like Oreo said, just IM those certain people, set up a certain room you could meet in most often or something..
On your friends list.. You should see the ‘group’ that your friends are.. AKA… ‘Friends’, ‘Buddies’, things like that. You would RIGHT-CLICK on that group and there should be something that reads ‘Send message to everyone in group’ or something like this.. I don’t do it that much, so I’m not 100% sure on the wording, but I hope this helps.
These IDs are known as illegal IDs or “illys”.. As far as I know, you can no longer make them and any that you have probably seen in chat rooms were made a while back and/or someone was able to crack the password for that ID. I’ve heard there are certain programs around sites that have some way of making it around the rule of no more then one “_” at a time but I wouldn’t recommend these programs, most have some sort of virus attached to it.
I’m not 100% sure.. but I think the newest version of Y!Tunnel Pro has a ‘Deny-A-Buddy’ feature that, if you leave the “message” part empty, it will not send a message letting them you know you denied them. I have the newest messenger build (8.0) so I have not been able to try this feature out for sure, just going by the messages on the Y!Tunnel pro forums and such… Besides that, I am not too aware of any other programs for that.
Are you using Yahoo messenger or a chat client? I have been noticing on Yazak (chat client) that these ‘odd’ names appear on my list that I have never seen before and I’ve heard from a few sources that these are the other ‘profile names’ of people that may already be on your list… say you have someone on your list under the name “billy_x2106′ that you added, if he has other profile names, they may show up as well. I’m not sure if this could be the same problem you’ve been having or not, but I know that was the whole deal on my end, lol.
All I can think of is purchasing Y!Tunnel Pro (it’s pretty cheap), I just recently purchased it and it gets rid of any ads. Sorry I couldn’t be of much help, I’m sure someone else out there can give ya some more advice!! 🙂
