bronxyMemberTigerblade wrote:i’m guessing you used a pagebuilder of some sorts, perhaps dreamweaver or something similar. your markup is… heavy. it’s extremely table-based and non-standards-compliant. that’s part (although a small part, perhaps) of the loading problem. the more markup you include (every font tag, every style tag, etc), the heavier your pages will be, the slower it will load, and the harder it will be to update or change the look of the whole site. What exactly do you mean its extremley table based? Yes, we do use tables to set up the pages, but tables shouldnt have an affect on on the speed. I use tables on A LOT of my other websites, and it doesnt slow it down.
Also, what do you mean every font tag/style tag/etc. We mainly use only 1 or 2 different font styles.bronxyMemberthanks for all of the advice.
yes, our coder actually used dreamweaver. he did smarty templates…whatever exactly that means.
bronxyMemberI am using the latest YM and Windows XP SP2
bronxyMemberSomething happens on my end as well. This started happening right after I installed the latest XP updates:
I go to open a webcam connection on YM and the thing starts to freeze a bit, and then gives me an internet explorer error, which I am forced to click and then I get knocked off the entire internet and must restart my pc. I have reinstalled YM a few times, and my webcam software so I know it’s none of that stuff..
hmm.
bronxyMemberIt’s not like a Best Buy per say where they have locations all across the US. This store has locations in just Michigan and Ohio.
Jeff & Tigerblade I appreciate the info that you have given me.
bronxyMemberIt will be large-scale shopping cart purchases, individual purchases of a single product…
The business we are doing it for, is just like Best Buy. So just imagine that.
bronxyMemberWe are currently debating on weather to use .net or .php. We have one developer that pushes for .net and is kind of a fool. Our other potential developer is a php nut. The PHP developer is much more keen on talking us (the designers) through what he is doing and what he needs done to make things happen. In the end my question is if we go the php route will we be able to come up with a well developed ecommerce site this including a mysql database. again the background work on web is something more foreign then hondas to me so i hope this helps you in helping us answer our question.
thanks
bronxyMemberall i could find was soft light, and then use that while drawing the line.
i still could only get the line but none of the fades around the edges to bring it out like you did above.sorry for the trouble
-bronxybronxyMemberI see the paint brush tool does work…

bronxyMemberI dislike AIM 5.9 greatly though, and would like to stick to AIM 5.5
bronxyMemberI have 2 screen names. One, that I have used since AIM first came out, and a new one I just recently made.
Both I have tried to format the screen name, and they do not work.
Also when I go to the option “Update Email Address.” It never responds, it just sits at connecting.I am using the latest AIM 5.5
I tried to format my screen name on 5.9, and it did not work. I tried Triton, and it finally worked. It must be the old AIM’s
bronxyMemberYes, its some kind of script where you have to click the ad, and then a link appears to go to the destination.
bronxyMemberSorry about that…
Here is an example:bronxyMemberyeah I got the video to work, thanks!
I couldnt get that one program to work, I have Nero and found a way to use that. I wonder how much space a full movie with extras, etc would use up.
I have movies on there without the special extra’s and its less than a gig with pefect quality! -
