go to http://www.unsticky.net and download “unscanned”. Load in a list of all your emails and it will scan each of them for the screennames that are tied to them.

I Think Trillian and GAIM are the only ones. I didn’t like GAIM because of the same reason you do like it. It’s too simple.
This might be something completely different, but maybe someone knows your password? Maybe that’s why they’re adding themselves or others to your contact list?
