MemberWell, we knew something was in the works for the last couple of months but this surpasses any expectations I had. It seems Yahoo has really listened to its users this time and is definitely trying to make a run against MSN now. I guess we should get ready for this forum to get busy with a new flood of questions now 😀 Hopefully this release by Yahoo will go smoother than MSN’s release of 6.2 but in the regards of supprot, Yahoo still has a lot to prove yet. We shall see.

MemberActually, yes. If you are using a computer on a network, then anybody with “administrator” privileges can monitor your pc. This is a standard network systems tool so you need to use caution while on a PC at work. Must be nice having an office job with that kind of free time (lol).

MemberI am not sure if I am thinking of the same thing as you, but I have a program called The Replicator that is capable of logging large files. I believe this is what you are referring to. As for programs to do what you are wanting to do in Yahoo chat, I would recommend that you use a 3rd party chat client called Yahelite. It enables you to use macros as well as save chat room sessions as text files. Here is the link http://yahelite.org/deep/files/yahelite/ You will want the file called yahelitefull.exe or zip Good luck!
( oh, and to save you some time trying to find it, the command you want to use is the /save [filename] command)

Memberwell, there’s not much telling where you got them from b4, but there are many sites out there that have wav. files available for download. One of my favorites is http://sounds.wavcentral.com/effects26.htm . Another good place to look might be this site http://www.soundamerica.com/sounds/sound_fx/S-Z/

MemberThere are several different ways to add music files into windows media player. I am sorry to say that I have never purchased music through iTunes so I am not certain which method will work exactly, but there is a way to do it. Open windows media player/ click on help/help topics and then click on the index tab. Scroll down to “adding files” and then select “to media library.” In the window on the right, there will now be a list of several different techniques for adding files to your list. I hope this info helps.

MemberWhen you add somebody to your friends list, they receive a notice that you are asking to add them. If they accept, the name will remain on your list, but if they denied you then the name would not appear on your list. As far as whether he added your id or not, if he did add the alias, you would also have received a reply back stating that he added you and you can accept or deny. This link may be of some help as well http://help.yahoo.com/help/sg/mesg/use/use-03.html

MemberThis is a type of aplore worm that has become a common problem in Yahoo and MSN chat. My first suggestion would be to use one of these online scanners and set them to auto-clean (if possible, it will remove it for you…otherwise instructions should follow on how to manually remove it). http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/indexie.php
http://www.trojanscan.com/
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htmAnother thing you need to consider upon removing this worm is to get a “good” anti-virus program, a good firewall, a spyware/adware removal program, and learn more about internet security.
AVG is one of the best a/v’s on the net. Go here to dl a free version http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php
Zone labs offers a free version of the #1 firewall program, zone alarm, here http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp
There are many spyware removal programs out there. Most people I know use a combination of either spysweeper (by webroot) or spybot along with adaware 6.0. To get adaware 6 go to http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10045910.html?part=69274&subj=dlpage&tag=button and if you decide you would like to get spysweeper for free then send me a private e-mail ( This is my own personal so I can’t paste the link on the forum)
and finally, to learn more about safely using the internet and maintaining security I suggest you start at http://security.yahoo.com/ (For a Yahoo page, it has a lot of really good info there)doc rock
MemberWhile I won’t disclose specific information about booter programs on a help forum or in a help room, I can tell you how to protect yourself from getting booted. Read this post https://bigblueball.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10852
As far as your ID goes, It appears to have a temporary lock on it. The main thing you don’t want to do is to continue trying to log it in until it is unlocked. All you are doing is adding to the amount of time it normally takes to be unlocked. For more information on unlocking ID’s and accounts read here http://www.doc-rocks-dungeon.com/chathelp3.htm

MemberI agree that ymlite is a good program to help shield booters. But there are several others you may want to take a look at as well. Freddy has a list of them at http://www.helpbytes.co.uk/clients.php
and has even listed some brief info about each for your convenience. I cannot speak for all of them, but I can say that I have never been booted while using the YCHT protocol on Yahelite and haven’t ever heard of anybody else being booted while on it either. Of course, as a third party chat client, it does take a little bit of effort to learn if you want to use all the added features in it. The Yahelite address is http://yahelite.org/deep/files/yahelite/ Once there, you want to get the file named “Yahelitefull.exe or zip”As far as the YPager error that you are getting, there are several different types of YPager errors, such as YPager has caused an invalid page fault in module…. To locate the exact nature of the problem we would need more information from you. In my experience YPagers are not normally associated specifically to voice chat, which could mean that you might not meet all the system requirements for voice, such as the version of browser, etc. You can check these here http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mesg/voice/voice-01.html
You may just want to simply do a custom uninstall of Messenger and re-install it to fix the problem. For instructions on how to do this see http://www.doc-rocks-dungeon.com/chathelp7.htmNow, to address the last part of your question about booting…There are several different ways that booters work. PM bombers are mostly a thing of the past and are easy to stop – if you were being flooded with pm’s you would know it. Other booters are not always as noticeable and most often result in a sudden log off of messenger without warning. However, Yahoo users often just simply get disconnected from Messenger without being booted, sometimes from server issues or a problem that occurred somewhere along your internet connection. And, if you are receiving an error message at the time you lose connection then its not a user booting you, but more directly a problem with your program or your PC. To troubleshoot Messenger problems and errors you could visit http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mesg/twin/index.html or http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mesg/

MemberHmmm, as far as Crazy Penguin’s dream, I don’t know that freud could analyze that one (lol). But, dreams are sometimes strange and demented.
As for my own dreams, most are inappropriate to discuss on the forum without the risk of being banned, I do however have a recurring nightmare from time to time about something that actually happened while I was in the military. It was an incident involving 2 Marines who were struck by lightning while putting a radio antenna up in the middle of a bad storm. I guess my mind still lives in the past because I get this flashback a lot. These were the only 2 Marine Corps lives that I lost during my 8 years of military medicine – and for the most part I don’t think about it. But when the dream re-occurs it bugs me for several days again.
