doc rockMember
I do believe freddy has this covered best on his help site. I recommend reading this http://www.helpbytes.co.uk/profiles.php , especially if you are a NTL user.
doc rockMembernot sure. you would have to try it and see.
doc rockMemberthe easiest way would be to use a chat client. here is a list http://www.helpbytes.co.uk/clients.php
doc rockMember1. What state is washington d.c. in?
2. A train travels 30 miles per hour and leaves winston salem nc at 1:00 pm heading south to little creek virginia, which is 300 miles away. What time will the train arive in little creek?
3. Who wrote the declaration of independence?
4. What do the stripes represent on the American flag?
5. Now that Arnold Schwarzneggar has got into politics, why will he never be allowed to run for U.S. President?
6. There is a state that has 3 different time zones..true or false?
7. How many judges are in the Supreme Court?
8. What does FDIC mean and why is it so important?
doc rockMemberIt sounds like you have those aliases turned off. To check this go to login and select my profiles: if there is an “X” in the box next to the profile then it is turned on (which means that it will show online). If there is not an “X” in the box then it shows as offline. Be sure to click apply after any changes that you make.
doc rockMemberproblem fixed now 😉
doc rockMemberYes, I Yahoo. I am not certain why you are having trouble, but if you would like for me to help you one on one meet me in Yahoo Chat Help room 6. I am always in there and under the Doc Rock ID.
doc rockMemberThanks for the update. As a big music fan, I am deeply concerned with the direction this is heading. I am probably next on their hitlist!!!:D I say Power to the People….this is just one more instance where once the door is opened for a victorious suing campaign, there is no end to the madness. Sometimes the system really makes me sick.
Also, here is some food for thought: There may come a time when they try to subpoena user registration files of p2p program users in the future….even though this would be an obvious infringement on our rights to piracy, I mean privacy :p. As far fetched as it sounds, it seems that nowadays they are able to write their own laws in direct contradiction to the Bill of Rights. As a result, I personally stay away from any program that requires me to register.
doc rockMemberEmpire Strikes Back all the way!!! And Det, I cannot believe you haven’t atleast saw one Star Wars movie…I thought that was a requirement for all childhoods. If you haven’t, you should….Star Wars was almost a movie genre by itself and it definitely set the standard for sci-fi movies….
doc rockMemberAs far as I have seen thus far, you are able to send your contact info when adding a friend to your list of contacts but as far as just sending someone the info, there doesn’t seem to be an option just for this in the Beta version of 6.0 I would expect it to be there in the full version once its released. Remember, this is a Beta, some things were not included as this is just a testing phase before the final release.
doc rockMemberUnfortunately I have never had the luxury of having an office job so I am not certain about this. When you go back to your computer’s login screen, are you required to sign back in to your PC? I am thinking that when you do this, it automatically disconnects the computer from the internet as it goes into stand by. I will gladly accept a second opinion on this one though. In addition, if this is what you are in fact referring to, it is a windows feature that does this for security/privacy reasons. Your messenger is running on your “user profile.” By returning to the login screen for windows, you are basically logging off the PC account so that it is possible for a different user to log in, in which case, different accounts would be involved as far as the Windows Program is concerned. Its just a normal built-in safety feature for account privacy is all.
doc rockMemberAgreeing with Netti, there are several possibilties so more information will be great. Additionally, If you are trying to access web messenger from work, then most likely you are running on a secure network that has a router/network hub/firewall system setup for security purposes. In this instance only those who have “administrator privileges” will be able to make the necessary changes in order to allow you to connect to messenger on the web. For questions about firewalls click here. For more troubleshooting information for Messenger Connection issues you can also visit http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mesg/twin/index.html
doc rockMemberFirst I will address the question about your photo. View your profile that has the picture on it. Point your mouse over the picture and left-click; this will bring the picture up on a blank page. There are 2 ways to save this picture to your computer (although only one is always guaranteed to be available)
1. Right click on the picture and select ” save picture as…” or “save image as…” (for Internet Explorer and Netscape browsers respectively)
***For Windows users:
2. If the picture is large enough in size, when you move your mouse pointer to the upper left hand corner of it you will see a small prompt window open up with 4 mini-icons – “save this image, print this image, send this image in an email, and open my pictures folder.” Select “save this image” (the first icon).
This will save the picture onto your PC. Now all you have to do is edit the second profile to add the picture. For instructions on how to add a picture to your profile visit
Now for the second question. Is it possible to be logged in on both accounts at the same time? Absolutley. There are several ways to do this:
1. You could log one account in on Messenger and the second account on Yahoo Java Chat at http://chat.yahoo.com/ (this method requires no additional programs).
2. You can log one in on Messenger or Java Chat and the other in on a third party chat client. For a list of clients and more information about them visit http://www.helpbytes.co.uk/clients.php
3. Using Yahelite as your chat client, you can use the “/fork” command and run multiple instances of the program running each account on a separate instance.
4. You can run multiple instances of Messenger using a program like Yahoo Multi-gold 5.6 You can download it here.
*** Note: All of these methods will work providing that the ID’s you log in are entirely separate accounts and not just aliases on the same account.
doc rockMemberI am with Freddy on this one all the way. Not only will you save resources by using a chat client, you will find more security, stability, and extra features as well. Check out his site for a list of chat clients suitable for Yahoo!
doc rockMemberyes, like oreo said…you have outlook express set as your default email for sending emails….to check this or to change it:
open Internet Explorer and click on tools/internet options
click on the programs tab
go to email and click on the arrow to drop down a list of your email clients and select yahoo mail as your default email service
then click on apply and close explorer ( should fix it now.) -
