MemberWhat’s up?
First off, what version of Yahoo! Messenger is he on? I bet it is a bug in the new Messenger! Anyway, your Yahoo! Messenger statuses are held in the registery, so I bet somehow it has been tied up in there to continuosly show. Tell him to go to login/preferences and select Privacy. Under “Idle Status” tell him to uncheck it, exit messenger and restart it. That should wipe out the Idle function completely. If it still happens, his registery may be screwed up or Yahoo! installed incorrectly.

MemberWell, I wouldn’t know about the Super webcam feature, because I’m on 56k, but I can say that it sounds to me it is a problem in the new messenger that Yahoo! hasn’t adressed. Oh, and don’t bother complaining to Yahoo!. All you will get is an auto-response. At least that’s from my experience.

MemberOk, sounds to me like they are banned for some reason. I made a program to unban accounts, but my sites been banned in these forums. But, you can still do it using Yahoo!’s page – http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/mesg/cgi_log fill that out. If they aren’t banned then I don’t know what is wrong.

MemberSounds to me like your driver for the cam is screwed up, or you’ve got a slow CPU.

MemberI realize that, and I wrote you back 3 e-mails. It has been almost 2 days and I’ve recieved no response. “Oreo”, I am not telling you what to do, merely suggesting. It’s just kind of annoying you all ban my site without first e-mailing me asking to remove or lock away the content. I did so and e-mailed Jeff back 3 times as I said above. If it is still going to be banned I will simply no longer visit these forums and will take the link off from my site. Jeff if you didn’t get the e-mails then we need to communicate through a different system. I can copy and paste them in something else. I’m out

MemberShe’s just saying, in GENERAL a lot of Yahoo Messenger related programs she downloads always have missing files. Shifter was right for the most part, but to be more specific, most “Yahoo Programmers” meaning, most people who make programs that add on to Yahoo! Messenger make them with Visual Basic. This is a popular programming language because it is a lot simpler than a lot of other programming languages, being that you can put one thing and it can do a lot from it, unlike another language where as you have to declare every single thing at the start. But, the downside is that the users will need the add-on files that Visual Basic created programs use. Shifter is also correct in that we assume most people have the files, because, well, they do! But the people who don’t get the error message and think that it is a fault in our program (usually). I will say that I for now on will include every file needed with it in a .ZIP.

MemberTrust_no_1711 is right, that patch is awesome. I will give a direct link to it when Jeff (hopefully) takes my site link out of the banned words filter. It edits a file and brings back not only the “Follow user in chat” link, but also several other familiar links that were on the messenger 5.6 menu’s.

MemberDude it sounds to me like you deleted the main profile lmfao but still had aliases…but hmm, if that’s not the case, I’m not really sure. Sounds like your ID is just screwed up. Obviously you can’t create them if they are showing up in the profiles.yahoo.com though. All I can suggest is logging into messenger on the alias ID and entering a room on it, instead of having to choose from the drop down list so it won’t boot you off. Maybe someone knows more about this, but I’ve surely never heard of this problem.
Good luck

MemberJustified…hate to tell you but, you’re supposed to login with a backup ID of yours, aka a “bot”. Not the ID you are currently on lol. And as for Oreo, well if that is the case then you should take out your signiture where it says “I am currently bootylicious”, some 13 year old may find that objectionable. 😀

MemberHello
Sorry, but I’ve never seen nor heard of a program that does that. I may make one myself, but no telling how long it will take, because I only make programs that I will use, and I never listen to Windows Media Player on a normal basis.
Good luck

MemberWell, if you’re new to this topic, the links to it were deleted, even though they were direct links…shifter doesn’t like me. Sorry! All I can suggest now is going to http://www.google.com.

MemberMy site got snipped! AHH! lmao. Yeah, I don’t do installers though, a lot of people thing “Am I installing a virus!?” lmao. Anyway..heres a direct link to the COMDLG 32 file, so hopefully it won’t get *snipped* this time lol.
EDIT: Sorry, link still leads back to inappropriate content. Please to not link to this site again, as it is against our forums policy and guidelines. Thanks!

MemberMuhahahaha. lol. Well, I always used Chinese (Mainland) not sure about the other.

MemberWell, Yahoo! does leave archives of other things in .dat and .txt files I’ve found. You may be able to find theirs in some, open the following documents and search for part of the name you remember. You would have had to voice with them or something though…
Go into C:program filesyahoomessenger
Open YServer.log in Notepad.
It looks like this only worked on older versions of messenger though, because when I look in mine, I am seeing ID’s from 2 years ago. If it doesn’t work, all I can suggest is going to Members.Yahoo.com and searching by Yahoo! ID’s, putting some of the username you remember in there. Good luck

MemberHm, yeah, it obviously does something. It may because of the new features such as the streaming radio SHOUTcast. I right clicked in that area and viewed the source, it’s all running through a webpage, just embedded into the messenger iface. I will say it is annoying, and I’m not really seeing as to why it would need to refresh everything on first load.
