This has happened to me a couple of times – even with a screen name I had deleted from Yahoo and then reregistered about a year later. I know they are actually from the time posted too. It’s like the offlines get stuck in “Yahoo Cyber Space” and eventually make a landing. :crying:

Sounds to me something isn’t allowing Yahoo to connect – check your firewall if you are running one.

Thank you all – that is what I wanted to know. I personally only can see a VERY FEW “good” things that it can be used for, but like you stated it is up to y’all to make the final decision. I was just curious and concerned. As far as any other programs – not right now, but give me some time, I’m pretty good at “stirring the pot” – lol. 😉
Thanx Amy, apparently I missed that posting (which REALLY surprises me). I agree with alot of what was posted there – the pros and the cons. Yes, I agree Yahoo itself is at fault for letting it still be “useable”. No, BS isn’t “hacking” into someone’s system, everything it does can be done manually (not everyone knows how to do these things, thank God), but it is an invasion of privacy, regardless if it is hurting things like a boot program would be, but that still doesnt explain why BBB condones its use over other programs. Obviously Jeff and the monitors get to decide what is accepted and what is ditched – why is BS an exception ?
Stalkers can have a field day with programs such as BS. I have a teenage daughter who uses Yahoo and such programs do concern me, so I try with all my “Yahoo knowledge” to protect her. That is my main reason for starting all this. There are too many creeps out there for any of us to make it easier for them with such programs. Yes, I could solve the problem all the way around by not letting her use Yahoo but I don’t think that is fair to her just because some other people are freaks. Yahoo is a wonderful program if they would beef up their security.
Wait one minute … I’m going to bring up another program’s use while we are on the “Right to Privacy” subject.
I personally feel Buddy Spy violates my “Right to Privacy” – so why is its use condoned here ? :confused:

Do you have a friend (that he doesn’t know) and you can trust that has a webcam that might help you out ?

Ohhhhhhhh … and I suppose Buddy Spy isn’t using the same “exploits”??? You just don’t like the idea of someone seeing what you are trying to do to them. Turn about isn’t fair game ?
I done the same. I’m not trying to argue with you or anyone else. My point is – if Buddy Spy is going to stay – why not release the Anti-Buddy Spy as well. That way it is fair. At least with the Anti-Buddy your only checking who is being nosey with you – not everyone.
Of course Unsakred gets the last say – it’s his program. I personally do not use Buddy Spy – and it’s nothing against Unsakred – He is very good at what he does. I feel it is an invasion of my privacy to be “checked on” in such a manner. Don’t get me wrong, I am aware there are several “manual” ways to check online status of everyone. Also, it helps create hard feelings between friends and such if they find out “so-n-so” is hiding from them, even if they truly aren’t “hiding” from anyone. We all have came on the pager, curious to see who’s online while being invisible ourselves. I see no problem with that. If we choose to become “available” great – if we don’t that’s our choice. How about people who have constant connections and leave their pagers on while invisible even though they aren’t at the computer? Granted, the majority should act more like adults and not have issues with someone not being available to them. In my opinion, programs such as these simply cause unneeded problems and I think Unsakred could use his talents for bigger and better things. 😀
Besides, if people do get to feeling uncomfortable with being “caught” – isn’t that a clue that maybe it isn’t right to do ??????
I think the release of Anti-Buddy would discourage people from using Buddy Spy, knowing there is a possibilty of getting caught checking up on someone. You would be scared to scan someone, knowing they would know who scanned them and when.
Hmmmm …. EXACTLY … If it is to be “OK” to use Buddy Spy – why should it not be ok to use Anti Buddy Spy ?? Now we are back to the “All is fair in love and war” remark. If both were released, then both sides would have the tendency to feel it was a “fair” game. If you choose to use Buddy Spy then you should be aware someone could be checking in on you, just as you are doing to them. 😀
