The previous address of the BBB News Feed was https://bigblueball.com/rss.xmlfstieglitzMemberAll done! I unsubscribed as suggested, then re-subscribed to the BBB Newsletter with a new email address.
One minor mental hiccup I experienced was that I un-subscribed from the “BBB Newsletter”, yet re-subscribed to the “BBB Mailing List”. Two differently-named things… yet the same. No problem, as this is just me being the picky-terminology kind of guy I am, right?
Thanks to all for the quick support. Now back to work.
fstieglitzMemberHovering over the “unsubscribe” link in the Newsletter displays an address very unfamiliar to me.
Just about EVERY SINGLE recommendation I’ve ever heard suggests NEVER clicking the unsubscribe link that comes in messages like this, as it will result in only adding me on other multiple mailing lists.
Don’t get me wrong. I trust BBB, and even seem to remember going wine tasting with some of it’s staff many years ago in another life. But I still hesitate clicking on the unfamiliar link to “roving.com” that is presented as the unsubscribe link.
Is there a better way? Can BBB assure me that this “roving.com” address is safe to click? Am I being overly cautious?
Thanks for your understanding.
fstieglitzMemberAh… that secret ingredient that you spelled “Fluor” must be an interesting freudian slip, eh?
fstieglitzMemberWe started using Netmeeting on project work back in 1996. We collaborated with clients in Africa, the US and the next cubicle. Netmeeting lit the spark for many of us who were striving to innovate and improve. I will miss it.
Netmeeting is dead. Long live Netmeeting.
fstieglitzMemberHello. Just a quick note: The download link you listed didn’t seem to point to anywhere that I could actually download this IM Video Companion thing.
I found the Logitech IM Video Companion download page at http://companion.logitech.com/companion/download.html instead of at the address listed previously in this forum.
No problem. I will install, test and report back soon.
fstieglitzMemberHey Jeff. There’s a pine tree in my front yard that has gotten too big. Can you drop by and trim it for me? Great job on the video. I’ll expect context and vocabulary around it by Monday. 🙂
fstieglitzMemberWell, maybe not a “must see”, but we enjoyed it.
Gosford park.
Complex and numerous characters. Sometimes you have to listen carefully because of the accents. Murder mystery detective story with a bit of comedy. This is the kind of movie I’ll probably need to watch again just to catch everything that’s going on.
A good night out. Don’t drink too much soda because the movie’s kind of long. The theater was packed full. Some people came early and brought their Sunday paper to read while waiting in their seat.
fstieglitzMemberI had installed and tried Groove several months ago. For a while, it sat dormant until I was reminded about it by a coworker.
Looking into it a bit more, I was compelled to upgrade my Groove to the latest release. I followed the upgrade instructions on the Groove web.
After numerous upgrade attempts, bizzare error messages, C++ runtime errors, three complete program un-installs followed by three complete program re-installs all involving numerous reboots, I was finally able to get the new version up.Now, my only problems are:
1) Because of all this thrashing around, the two project spaces I was using were totally erased
2) I now seem to have TWO duplicate identities on groove.netSo. Though I like what the Groove people have done in their P2P collaborative concept, I guess I’m not too happy with their ability to test and deliver something that makes upgrading easy on the poor user. There should be no reason why previous spaces are deleted, nor why your identity is not handled correctly.
Oh well. All that said, I am still very interested in Groove and the whole concept of P2P work methods.
Maybe I should consult BBB-Alice before I upgrade next time?
fstieglitzMemberBetween Jan and Dec. I just love those Chicago winters.
