Someting on your computer is triggering MSN Msgr to start. Most likely culprits Outlook, Outlook Express or IE. The easiest way to stop this is to rename the folder the Msgr files are located in. Most commonly c:program filesMessenger. Just rename it to something else like MSGR Disabled. This will cause the program to not open. The easiest way to turn it off after it has been started is to do a Ctrl+Alt+Del and close the msmgr.exe file. If you are using WinXP it will be located under the Processes tab due to the fact that MS slated it as a “system process” instead of a program. Now keep in mind this is just information that I have collected. 100% of it might not be true but at the moment it seems to be working ok for me!!

Just as a suggestion you might want to try the WebBased application at http://www.multicity.com I have been using it for a few days. It suggests a 15 day expiration peroid on one reigstratoin page and on another suggests that a basic membership is free, so if the membership will work after the 15 day peroid I am not sure. 🙁 **the program also lets you access yahoo**
Just as a little foreward, I used to work selling MSN broadband service! This information is from my expierance there!
MSN 8.0 is a pay service. You can still find some instances of MSN 7.0 (Free Older Version) via sites like http://www.download.com, as far as MSN having service in Canada. At the moment there is speculation to their launching a MSN.ca service. Keep in mind thats speculation. I mean MSN is not quite smart not allowing MAC users to access their software hence not having the base of MAC users paying for their ISP service in America. As far as MSN text/billing support, good luck. Its an outsourced company working for MSN. They are a bunch of people working for minimum wage, with very little training.
