this happens to me too, but every once in a while it will let me put up the message that gets me kicked off all the time. it’s so weird.
I have the EXACT same problem, and it drives me crazy! I might be watching a movie with an away message up, and I do not feel like paying to have people send me ‘oh how’s the movie’ texts — blah, but i’m lazy and don’t bother to manually re-set it…
Can anybody help?

this has happened to me before — I wasn’t patient enough to figure out why or what else to do, so I simply deleted and redownloaded, and then it worked just fine
That’s a really good point — are they talking about individual screennames? It’s a LOT harder to go into yahoo and sign up for a whole new yahoo account than it is to just get a new sn — with a service like yahoo you get a BUNCH of stuff all bundled together, same with msn, whereas with AIM you have a name, period.
yes there are many programs that offer logging features, look under AIM addons at the top of this forum — i’m not sure about the spell check feature though
who needs sn linking when you can just clone, I find cloning to be less confusing — I use AIM+ with the newest version of AIM
if you open up an instant message to the person you want to know about (you don’t have to send anything, just open the window), their stats will pop up…
ie)MJF0923 signed on at 11:33:02
MFJ0923 went away at 11:35:22etc, etc — but that is a pretty annoying way of finding all that stuff out — I know on the newest version of AIM you can opt to recieve notifications when somebody signs on, goes idle, breaths too loudly ;), but i’m not sure about logs
yes, I would love to use yahoo all the time, but my friends are all on AIM — there are only 2 people that I know that use yahoo, and they also use AIM….so what’s the point of having anything else…
