I’ve been using Google Chrome for about 2 months now and I really like it! I like that the status bar and address bar are the same. The only thing I don’t like is that there’s really no easy way to find your history.
kelseycMemberI got hooked watching it on CBS too. I’ve seen season 2 from Netflix, but I’m still really behind since they are already done showing the 4th season, right? I want to read the books too. they look interesting.
kelseycMemberI love Hulu and I also use Netflix. Hulu is great for watching tv episodes, and I also found some great older movies I had forgotten about on there (like ‘We’re Back! A Dinosaur Story’).
kelseycMemberI like LinkedIn a lot, especially the recommendations other contacts can give you. It’s like an instant reference for employers. But unlike other social networks, I usually only add people I know personally.
kelseycMemberI really like Twitter. You can add me at Kelsey Childress (wonderwall7) on Twitter
I use it for almost everything, from posting recent work I’ve published online to how I’m feeling on a certain day.
kelseycMemberWhiteboard really is a cool feature. It’s like Microsoft Paint for adults. 😀

Classic! What the survey doesn’t say is what a little discretionary web surfing can do for employee morale and productivity. Working in a stifling environment can sap the life out of anyone, and little “breaks” help keep you sane and focused.
That’s MY story, and I’m sticking to it.
I totally agree Gandalf! In my old full-time position, I would take little breaks in between proofreading and writing summaries to check my personal email or write a note on my blog. These breaks really helped me stay sane, like you said.
kelseycMemberConsidering the date of this post, I guess we are in the ‘future’ of IM, but I definitely think that IM has a long way to go. I believe that IM will soon become a standard way of communication for every workplace. Enterprise IM programs (such as the one I blog for, Brosix) provides a secure network for employees to communicate with one another and their managers while remaining at their desks. This is clearly the fastest way to communicate (hence the term ‘instant’) and I think it will gain more and more respect in the workplace.
To find out about Brosix, check out our blog: Enterprise Instant Messaging 😎
kelseycMemberCheck out Brosix- it offers exactly the type of program you are looking for. Sorry this is 7 years too late :o, but I just thought I would include in case any one else in interested in a secure private IM program. Brosix Enterprise Instant Messenger – Secure Corporate Instant Messaging for companies
kelseycMemberI definitely think that IM provides greater productivity while I am working. I don’t have to call/email/walk over to a co-worker to ask them a question and can continue to work on other things while waiting for their reply. I actually just wrote a Brosix blog entry about this subject: Is IM a Distraction in the Workplace? | Enterprise Instant Messaging
kelseycMemberFor business IMing purposes, I use Brosix IM, which is a secure instant messaging program. I am a blogger for their website. It provides a secure network to chat with co-workers or others who are allowed to be connected to your network. You can visit the Brosix website at: Brosix Enterprise Instant Messenger – Secure Corporate Instant Messaging for companies There is also a free version (Brosix Public), which can be downloaded at: Brosix PUBLIC Instant Messenger
kelseycMemberHey guys, the direct link to vote in the About.com IM awards is: Best IM Clients 2009 — The Year’s Best IM Clients
kelseycMemberHey guys, I love using IM in the workplace! I use to chat with coworkers, along with friends and family back home (over 120 miles away).
I write for the Brosix Enterprise IM blog, and I actually just wrote a post on there today about a study that was done about how people use instant messaging in the workplace: How is IM Used in the Workplace? | Enterprise Instant Messaging
kelseycMemberHey Jeff, that is a great article. Because I write for the Brosix IM blog, we talk a lot about these types of IM rules because they are just some of the many concerns our customers have had.
kelseycMemberIf you are looking for a way to monitor your employee’s conversations and IM use, check out Brosix Enterprise Instant Messenger – Secure Corporate Instant Messaging for companies , it’s a private instant messaging program with online management capabilities.
