MemberIn the future, if you want to keep your archives,be sure to move the Profiles folder to a location of your choice (i suggest in the desktop) before deleting the Yahoo! folder in the Program files.

If you deleted the entire yahoo folder when you uninstalled the previous version you had without leaving the Profiles folder, Sorry but the archives are gone too. 🙁

I have used this program but when I do the scan it has different results for different contacts with good reason ofcourse but can you tell me why on 1 bud it say’s “Skipped” then the next bud it say’s “offline”? if it say’s offline am I correct to assume that this person does infact have a cam?Have you tried the latest version BuddySpy 2.2? also have you tried to vary the scan options? If the scan says offline, the cam should be offline and not the other way around as you assumed. Also, make some interval on your scanning, flooded connection might give false results in your scan.

MemberWell i agree with Netti, recently yahoo has been so strict and quick to ban. As for me, I run 2 YMs, my original ID at pager (since i cant get it to enter any chatroom at the moment and still waiting for yahoo to fix it if ever they will pay attention to my emails :crying: and the other i use to enter chat.
So again, be careful in running multiple IDs at the same time. 🙂

Memberbender wrote:I am having a problem with Yahoo! Messenger 7 Beta. I downloaded ok, installed ok, but when I try to click on the Status bar to change my status, it shuts down, and exits completely!! It does the same thing when I try and use an emoticon during a chat conversation. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, deleted the Yahoo! Folder in Program Files, and reinstalled, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :confused:Since it is still in beta stage, you will definitely experience a lot of bugs. Please take time to look at the known issues regarding the beta messenger in the beta messenger homepage. If your problem is not in the known issue, its better to take the feedback form and send it to yahoo so it can be corrected.
As for your problem, i would like to recommend a clean and fresh install, if in case you havent done it. Dont forget to reboot after unsinstalling and reinstalling yahoo messenger. The beta works fine with me, except for few crashes.

Membercrvdtk wrote:Is there a way to prevent somebody from deleting a yahoo public room that i created? Booters always lock-out the room.. Pls help me..We have that same problem before, i dont know if yahoo have adressed that issue of booters “locking-out” a public room. Once the room is “locked” or displaying the message “the room is full please try another room”, the room name will most often no longer appears on the room list (user room list).
What we do when the room is locked is use the “go to chat user” option or invite. But of course only those that are regulars of our room and those we invited were able to get in. The “join room” option can also be used to bust in the room.
As to preventing those booters, mose often they use the room laggers to make the servers think that the room is full. So, its kinda hard to prevent it until yahoo address the issue.
Hope this helps.:)

Memberwhitestone wrote:Yes… tobs.. its really happening even i am also having the same problem while using Yahoo Messenger. Someone kept on reading the PM of ours and he told my friend that he tracked the IP addressed first and the hacked the account and set up in a way that he receives everymessage of my friend which she sends to me or receives any. We tried it with different id’s also but since he has the IP address of her, he can find out any yahoo id logged from that perticular IP address. Not even he can read the messages of ours but also he kept of booting the messenger also. Even am also looking a good solution how to stop this guy from interefering between us.Thanks.

Scan your PC to see if there are trojans, keyloggers that are hiding in there. there are a lot of programs that do it so i suggest it scanning it several times with different programs. After making sure that there are no malicious program inside your PC, change your IP address if your on Cable/DSL.

Membermax wrote:I have an old version of IM not sure which one but it meets my basic IM needs. It does not have a lot of task/tool bar icons, desktops, etc. If I update to a new version, add MultiY, SpyBuddy for instance will I be adding a lot of stuff to my toolbars, desktops, etc? Is there a lot of stuff I don’t need in the latest Yahoo IM version? The best feature I have read I like is being able to have multiple ID’s open. Should I upgrade or stay where I am overall? Thanks for any suggestions.Even the latest version of Yahoo Messenger does not allow activating Y!M on multiple instances. However, there are programs that made it possible to be able to run multiple Y!M at the same time. The latest version of Yahoo Messenger does have a lot of new features.
You have the option to create desktop shortcut or not in most programs such as SpyBuddy and others.
Also, Yahoo have sent notices that they will stop supporting the old version of Yahoo Messenger, so upgrading seems to be inevitable.. 🙂

Memberyeah my ID was previously locked, but i have got it back. the problem now is i cant make it enter a chatroom, wether thru messenger or the web browser (chat2.0 or java).
I have uninstalled, clean my registry, cookies, rebooted before and after installing YM again, but still did not work. only that particular account that was locked before that i cannot log-in. also, i have friends that also have the same problem.. that once they got their locked ID, they cant make it to enter chatroom.
Any workaround on this matter?

Memberactually, i tried my newly recovered ID on other PCs, but same results.. i tried it using YM or Chat clients but no luck. I also tried the ID of my friend that is also a newly recovered one from being locked, but same results.
Also, i have no problem logging-in my other IDs in Y!Messenger and entering chatroom. So i guess, its kinda “chatroom” ban (just my opinion)…
