MemberI really like the look of MSN, but I mostly use AIM since it seems to be easier to share files and pictures. It also may have something to do with the fact that mostly everyone I’m in contact with is using AIM as well.

MemberMy main instant messenger is AIM(it’s awesome) , in second place is MSN (but I hope that the new version 6.0 will be so fantastic that I’ll want to use it more than I use AIM) and in third place is Yahoo! (basically because I don’t really know as many people there ~ I really like the program though). I like the concept behind Odigo and the “radar” feature was very cool…but the way the program worked was not to my liking. I NEVER use it…lol.

MemberJohnson, you’re right, “knowledge is power”…it’s also a double-edged sword. When information is posted in these forums, everyone who reads them becomes armed with power. Power to protect oneself and power to hurt others. I’ll say once again that we have a responsibility to be selective with what we share here. It’s not a matter of being “frightened” or “scared” as you say, that is not the issue at hand. It’s a matter of NOT contributing to making harmful information easily available. As an expert with internet chat programs (and you really seem very knowledgable) you have the ability to explain what precautions we should take without exposing the way the actual invasion of privacy is executed. I am sure you realize that many will use that information to their advantage. 🙂 (hope this helps to settle all of this…)

MemberJohnson, in response to your post, I understand that you are attempting to be helpful by divulging “secrets” and sharing your knowledge of Yahoo, and I thank you for that. The only thing that concerns me is the fact that there are many who read these posts and sharing certain information may be detrimental to others. I feel that we all have a RESPONSIBILITY to be selective with what we share. YOU may have good intentions but you’ll never know for sure if the person you’re answering does as well. Bottom line…let’s all try to be discerning with the information we post.:)

MemberYes, I’ve said things in an IM that I’d probably never say in person. “Writing” is just so much easier in comparison to voicing thoughts. Well, at least for me. The fact that it’s anonymous doesn’t hurt either(lol).
