MemberNiche? this P2P app’s niche is B2B.
A great addition to Microshaft cos its typical fatware, at 14 MB its already 10MB too fat.
Bill will love it.rustedtight
MemberOH MY GOD, look at the size of his weener, why does he show it?
Rhiannon seems to have hit the nail right on the head here.
Before investing in a web cam a visit to a webcam site should be compulsory.
Webcams are serious testosterone country, I feel we all need to mature a lil before webcams should face the users not into business conferencing.
For those well blessed with fertilising equipment I guess the web cam offers some form of self appraisal and pride.
C’mon guys most of you are in the 90% zone that doesn’t even raise more than a fleeting glance.
Webcams? boring.rustedtight
MemberFanatic, when 1.9mb becomes way too much disk space let me know, I’ll give you a hard drive.
Seriously, its frivolous if you just brush over the surface, but there is a population of sight challenged users who may see some value here.
Hell its innovation, thats all i see, progress has to start somewhere. Think of BigblueAlice with a voice? cool? and with a face? OK so the face is frivolous…….. maybe.rustedtight
MemberHmm, like we need another uninteresting non interoperable chat app. that offers nothing new? I dont think so.
The ‘cow’ skin is kinda ironic to my eyes as I see this messenger to be about as useful as udders on a bull.
Still, it may be popular in cattle country.rustedtight
MemberDid you?
I’ll hang on to it for another week or two. Until the novelty value wears off, then drop it.
The current window consumes far too much screen real estate. I cant work and chat using it so it has a short life on my system.
It raises some points however……. maybe a voice reader app would be popular combined with a small on screen window not unlike AIM has now. What a great app for the visually impaired.Edited by – rustedtight on 10/06/2001 12:13:27

Member“A little silly”? sure it is, put this one down beside pet rocks, cyber pets, human mark-up language, aquarium screen savers et all. Frivilous it is, however, judging by its online forum and growth in a short time theres a lot of people out there willing to waste their time on it. So I lined up with some good company, Huh Jeff? and downloaded it in the interest of science……NOT.
It does what it claims, a cyber ‘head’ speaks the incomming messages. A little fast for my tastes but acceptable.
Useful when you wander out of the room to get coffee or …… and a voice begins chatting.
It has some uses…… theres um….., and umm…, well cyber sex would be a giggle, and theres those foul mouthed young guys who…….., naw, maybe it wouldnt be nice to actually hear that.rustedtight
Member“Was odigo used to warn of attacks?”
NO, not in this case.
The news report clearly states: “The message was a nonspecific threat that didn’t mention the World Trade Center, Diamandis said. “It was the timing that made it unusual.”
So, nobody was warned about WTC, it was just another threat, “nonspecific” and all.
It does make a good read though, if you gloss over the facts.rustedtight
MemberNeo pets, cyber pets. I know where your coming from.
Of course we moved up the evolutionary scale, its been a quantum leap.
Tamagotchi? the battery died.
Pet rock? lost it in the garden.
Ken n Barbi? I could always find Barbi but Ken seemed to wander off under furniture and places. Actually I think he had an identity crisis.
Hey!! The fish are cool, some come with travel documents. No vet fees is a big plus, no feed bills and no poop to clean up. Whats wrong with you peeps? get a life.
Ooops gotta go check my pets.

MemberThe answer is a resounding NO.
Now more than ever, what with relatively dumb kids able to set up a sophisticated denial of service attack against anyone who displeases them. to professional thieves leeching websites, mail n chat looking for credit card details, through to authorities placing Carnivore collecting systems at internet service providers. A Carnivore is a windows computer with removable hard drive so easily removed that the agent would take seconds to remove the drive n replace it with a blank one. Your privacy is a myth.
However, be honest with your chat buddies, dont break the law and who cares if somebody is recording my conversations.rustedtight
MemberYes, its weird………..
I always thought one end of the open source spectrum was kinda off the planet but…………. cataloguing emotions? Save me.
Archaeologists dig up bits and catalogue em so as to understand what it is they are digging into. This however smacks of archaeology in reverse, these turkeys are cataloguing current emoticons? and future generations will read this and see us as……… OMG, plastic people.
This insanity has to stop.rustedtight
Member“”How do YOU use instant messaging? Share your experience! Has it helped you find true love? Did you use it to nail that new job? Or do you have an IM “horror story?””
Uh huh, so the ‘charm-ee’ got nailed and not the new job?
Charmers start out with the same mind set wether nailing jobs or charmees.
Your story sickens me, Yet I feel you will rise above this setback.
The stink is only in your nose, nobody else notices it.
The bad taste? yeah well your going to have that for a while.
The stain? its in your eyes, nobody can see it believe me.
Why were we (fems) made so emotional, so sensitive, so caring, so humane. and why do they want to destroy that? Obviously it gives them pleasure.Edited by – rustedtight on 08/31/2001 06:13:56 AM

MemberSandi, beautifully put.
I have 2 opposable thumbs. a Jacuzzi and a bucket of popcorn.
A bumpy nose and 2 bottles of soda.
I’m free on most evenings. 😀rustedtight
MemberSuch a pity those students wore Walkmans turned full on.
My experience shows me a lot of lonely and rejected ‘rocks’ out there. Victims of a user society, the ‘gimme’ syndrome.
The pebbles lay where they fall. unwanted and replaced by the next ‘new wave’ pebble.
That leaves us with the sand.
Notice how the sand sticks to your skin, the pebbles hurt your feet and the rocks are pushed to one side?
so life is a gravel pit?
Hell no. it sux, then you die.
Get off your fat bum and give, so that you may receive.rustedtight
MemberWho will they partner next?
I would much rather bet on when it will happen rather than with whom. My money is on it not being announced within the next 160 days.
OK, my guess on the next partner? Sun Microsystems.Any side bets?

MemberI am Rusty, my needs are more base, I seek friendship, companionship or what passes for it on the web.
I believe that selection of a partner cannot be made in the dinky lil window afforded us by chat programs, however a basis may be set up wherein that may grow and true love may blossom.
I dont come here seeking a partner for life. Hell, I dont even come here seeking a partner for the next 30 minutes.
All i seek is chat. friendly chat. chat that may in its own way lead to a more solid friendship. nothing more, nothing less.
I accept that here is a program that will allow me to interact with those of opposing views, those of different religions, those that in the real world would oppose me and my choices, should I validate my choices? of course, without prejudice. and I should listen to the views of others. lest I be ignorant.
And God forbid that I be ignorant.
Sometimes I seek sympathy, wherein I have reached a position in life i cannot now handle, my God, there are people out there that care…and will help.
Sometimes I just want to hold another hand albeit a cyber hand, I can find it, it is out there.
Sometimes my needs are more base and satisfaction at a lower level is sought, sex is a driving force of life and whoahooo its a force to face on the web, carefull choice of partner and even ‘cyber’sex can satisfy……
OK you get what you deserve. it’s a fishermans creed, set your bait well and you get what you seek.
Me? my bait is a simple: Hi. -
