Files cannot be modified when they are in use. So it is always best to do scans (both antivirus and spyware) in safe mode. And if you are running Windows XP or Windows ME you may have to turn your System Restore feature off, to finish removing an infection. Turn it back on after you have successfully removed your infections.
It is probably time to lock these threads. And people who are really annoying aren’t scared by IP address threats.
Hey Tinethle there is no need to apologize, I understood your answer. Your responses are always dead on, keep up the good work. And its Microsoft’s and Sun’s fault for not playing nice. And Yahoo’s also for not coming up with a solution for Java voice support. I would love to chat using my Mac but chatting in Java without voice, bites.
Sorry about not having been clear. Since some of you are unable to get Yahoo to allow you voice directly through Yahoo Groups. No voice option/button is available, this is known. This is from Microsoft being jerks and not supporting Java anymore, but also the same versions of programs for different operating systems do not support the same features. Just look at 2000/XP and 95/98 Messengers, you get the quick view of profiles on the NT kernel. Also on XP you are able to multiple voice connections. And forget about having decent features if you are using a Mac or Unix/Linux, which are still Java based, and have no voice available at all without using a Window emulator for Yahoo. Now to fix the problem with your webpage browser you have 2 options.
Downdate your Java VM to Microsoft’s version, just as Kiwi and Tinethle have said. This will allow you to use Yahoo’s Chat 1.3 build beyond the 174 that is currently installed on your machine. Since the newer builds are not compatible with the Sun Microsystem Java release. But installing Java on XP is not recommended, because of the lack of support from Microsoft and the way they seem to go out of their way to screw up programs that compete with them.
So the way to get around not getting voice through the web page chat link on the Yahoo Groups, which is the problem that was listed, without messing with your Java VM is simply to;
Goto the Yahoo Group Homepage, click on the CHAT link, it should create a room.
Now this is were some people are having a problem of not having voice options. You open up your Yahoo Messenger and enter into Chat and type “/follow” your first ID using an alternate ID you have. (Type “/help” in the chat room if you are not sure how to use the /follow command). You then should have voice available in Messenger. Then just log out the ID that you used to open the room.
The problem with private rooms is that the names change frequently. The spelling has to be EXACT. The only private rooms that I have seen lately have been the Group rooms that have very long numbers assigned from Yahoo in the names and it changes everytime that the room is restarted. Once everybody has left a room the room dies and has to be restarted. Used to be that USERS rooms used to be created just by “/join” command or using your favorites, then the old room would come back up, but you would lose voice support when that happened. Older versions of Messenger are supposed to be able to still create USER rooms, but I hadn’t had luck with my Messenger 5.5 in creating a new room since Yahoo had took the USERS ROOMS down last year. I have only been able to create Group Chat Rooms.
I have 5.5, I prefer to keep my offlines without having to save them. Also as you know after 30 years of experience, the less features you have the less the fewer things that go wrong. I don’t need to see avatars or listen to music when I am in Chat. I block my Yahoo’s P2P ports. But it is usually better to keep software updated, but not on the bleeding edge. Beta’s are made for the bold and knowledgeable, who are willing to report back problems. I have seen too many people who barely know how to turn their computer on rush over to download beta programs and quickly get in over their heads.
Reinstall your webcam, then change your camera source. I think your camera source is set for the input on your AIW or the TV source on your card.
You would have to use AOL AIM to IM her. Lotus Sametime uses the AOL IM protocol. Just as MrEggsalad said you can use Trillian which would allow you to use Yahoo and AOL’s IM service at the same time. Or you can switch to AOL instant messaging. Either way you will still need to create a free AOL account to add her as your buddy.

I prefer Zonealarm’s free version over Sygate like miGs, I find its interface to be much more user friendly. But I have only been using Windows XP’s built-in firewall for years now.
Do you have XP? On XP it will ask you if you want to send a report in. In that box there is a link you can click that you can view the details of the error. If you post that error here it will help in solving your problem.
Again I ask, what operating system are you using? What CPU , amount of ram, hard drive size, do you have? What version of Yahoo Messenger are you using? Have you checked your computer for infections lately? Are you getting any other errors? How long have you had this problem? Did you install a new program or change any of your settings just before you started having problems? It is kind of hard to answer you question without specifics. Feel free to add anything you wish.
If you have an older operating system it may not be able to handle things properly. If you don’t have enough resources, your computer may be using virtual memory to shut down programs and it will be very slow in doing it.

Also make sure you have all your Window Update and the latest version of Macromedia Flash installed.
Yep I have never been able to recover a deleted main ID. The only way I have been able to do it is to make an alternate ID on the same account and make it the main ID, then delete the original, then to remake the old ID.
Amen, Amy! Ignoring idiots and protecting yourself is the best way to get rid of a booter. They usually get bored and go away.
