Got it. Thanks.
venikMemberRecently, my Yahoo Messenger v. 7 has started loging me in Automatically, using one of my login names. Where can I tell it to NOT log me in automatically? I searched the preferences, but did not see it.
Note: I am NOT talking about automatic starting of Y. Messenger when I boot Windows. I am complaining about being logged in when I just start Y. Messenger.
Thanks
venikMemberI see now that the automatic scanning does work. Now, how do I CLEAR the scanning history?
venikMemberI thought that AUTOMATIC SCANNING meant that a scan will be performed ever few minutes. However, that does not happen on either my XP or my Win2000 machines. Do I misunderstand the meaning of Automatic Scanning?

venikMemberHow about proper UPGRADE, instead of this REPAIR option that shows up when installing a new version?
Also, where is that new post scan menu?venikMemberAs I understand it, you also finger people who are “invisible”, right?
venikMemberFinally I got it to work. The problem was that it was not clear how to log on: the USERID was always grayed out. Now that I logged out, put in my userid, and logged in, everything seems to work ok. Wish that I knew that earlier;-(
princeG wrote:Yes, you simply log in Buddy Spy with you alternative ID and its supposed to work fine. At least for everyone out there..Because for me, I still havent been able to work it normally, i choose every single server and port and i’m never able to log on, I dont know whats the damn problem. Im behind the firewall that the xp provides but i dont think it’s the problem cause i’ve turned it off and tried again.
So, I just uninstalled the program in my disappointment 🙁venikMemberThis is the part I am having trouble with: HOW DO I “log it in with BuddySpy”? The USERID is grayed out on BuddySpy. Do I simply log on to Yahoo with the alternative userID and BuddySpy will use that ID?
venikMemberAlso, it says: “Not currently logged on” but the button reads: LOGOUT, not LOGIN, so how do I convince it to log in?
I have it set for automatic login.venikMemberI KNEW I have been missing something. Where do I tell it which account am I using? Under USERID? It is always grayed out.
I guess some sort of a help would have been eh… helpful!
THanks for your work and help.venikMemberI guess this thread (or maybe the program?) had been deserted….;-(
venikMemberSwitching to INVITE PACKET caused the program to tell me that EVERYONE is on line, when only some of them were actually on line….
venikMemberBTW– I am running version 2.1.6 on Windows XP Pro (sp 2), but I have the same behavior also on a WIN2k system.
venikMemberI am getting only SCANNING in the STATUS column, both for people who are off line and for those who are online. I changed the timeout to 20 seconds, but it did not help. I am not even sure whether I am logged on, since it says: Currently not logged on”, but I only have the LOGOUT button (I have it set for Automatic login).
I must be doing something wrong, but WHAT? -
