MemberYes, I’ld say that is rather weird. Oh well, glad you found a workaround.:D Glad to see you trying different things till you found something that works, keep up the good work. 🙂

MemberDue to the nature of yahoo and it’s servers, you won’t be able to get thier IP address unless it’s someone you’re in a P2P connection with, or you’re PM’ing with them, but ONLY if they are on your buddy list. That’s the only way to get thier IP address, but why would you need to worry if they are the same person. Send them a message over yahoo asking them a question, and have them answere it on AIM, or visa versa. I honestly don’t see the need to find thier IP address to see if they are the same person. Also, another thing you can do is have them turn on their cam, which both yahoo IM and AIM can do, that would pretty much prove if they are both one in the same.

MemberI’m sorry calvin, but I didn’t get the e-mail you sent me, if you want you can send it to me through my yahoo, even if I’m offline I’ll get it as an offline message, just let me know who you are, or you can try and send it to my email again.

MemberWell, I don’t know why yahoo would “lock” him out of your “sphere” It doesn’t make sense, there would be no reason to lock you out of his “sphere”. It could be the fact that you keep getting on different servers, which sometimes makes you unable to see what someone says, even though you can see that they are in the room. This happens to me and just about everyone I’ve chatted with, though this seems to happen too often for that to be the case. Have you tried making a totally new Yahoo account (and I dont’ mean just another s/n on the same account, I mean sign up for a totally new account)? And with the spyhunter program, if you can see the program’s name, the *.exe filename, or the file path that it is located in, then you should be able to delete it yourself, you dont’ necissarily need another program to do that. By the way, do you have any idea why he’s doing this, maybe if you apologize to him or whatever, then he’ll stop making the bots, however if he wants you to do something that you’re against, then don’t do it and just make a totally new yahoo account. From the look of things, there isn’t much you can do.

MemberOkay, I think I’ve found your problem. ^_^ What you need to do is go into your yahoo preferences, click on “privacy” and check to see if he’s in your ignore list. If he’s on that list, then you can see him in the room, but you won’t be able to see what he says. Hope this solves your problem.:D

MemberI doubt he works for Yahool, though he could, it wouldn’t be too far fetched. However, I have been doing research on it and so far, I’ve come up with nothing. I’ve checked all the popular/famous “hacker” sites and have come up with absolutely nothing. The only thing I can say is that he has either hacked into the servers, or there’s a new program running around in the underground, and no one’s being very open about it. I’ll start monitoring the “hacker” rooms in Yahoo and making logs of what’s said in there, and I’ll also worm around in IRC to see if i can find anything, but i wouldn’t get your hopes up. It could also be that he’s made something himself, and isn’t going to share it with anyone. Right now, I don’t know what to tell you. But i do have a question for you, what room is he doing it to, I’ld like to check and see what’s going on, if you don’t mind, maybe it’ll help at getting to the bottom of this.

MemberWell, it’s true, you can do that, but you in order to do it you have to have thier username and password. If you dont’ have those, then no, you can’t see any of thier aliases, at least not that i know of. There are supposedly several programs that are supposed to show all of a person’s aliases, but none of them actually work, i’ve tested them and could never get them to work the way they were supposed to. The only thing the really did was show whether a name was take or not, in case you wanted to use it. So yeah, hope that helps and I hope someone with more info adds to this.

MemberI would assume that all you need to do is e-mail your files to an e-mail account and then print them off from a computer. Other than that, i have no idea as to what to tell you, maybe someone else can help you.

MemberUmm, I really doubt that you wouldnt’ be able to see what he/she says if you friends copy and paste it for you to see. However, one thing you can try is making a whole new account, and leaving out all personal information from the profile. Also make sure that it doesnt have anything in the name that would give you away. Another thing you might want to do is run a virus scan, just in case he’s got something on your computer to make sure you can’t see what he’s typing. It could also be a ruse to make you really really mad, though i dont’ see why your friends would do that to you. So, first off run a scan and check to see if you can see him after the scan is done, and if that doesn’t help then make an entirely new account.

MemberOkay, here’s the skinny, third party chat clients don’t tell you who’s booting you because booters use bots to send a barrage of messagues full of HTML code that causes a buffer overflow in your yhaoo (or other chat clients). They make these bots under a totally different name, and these bots then replicate themselves so there are several of them at one time. The only thing a third party chat client will do as far as booting is concerned, is cut down on the chances of you being booted. If you get booted a lot, then you might want to try a program called Y!mLite, I’ve mentioned it a hundred times now, and I’ll say it gain, I use it, and I’ve never been booted, plus it’s easy to use.:p Now, as far as your “hacking” problem, my advice, run a trojan scanner/spyware scanner, such as Spybot S&D (which is free) and update and run your anti-virus software. Other than that, the only way to really make sure you dont’ have a virus is to reformatt your comp, which i doubt you really want to do. So, do your scans, and if you need a trojan scanner, you can try this one for 30 days http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=download . It’s pretty simple, and i liked it, but you’ld be better off using your anti-virus. Hope this helps at least a little bit. ^_^

MemberThey have boots for Y!tunnel, so that won’t help much, if someone has a booter, you can bet they have booters to boot YahElite, Cheeta Chat, and Y!tunnel. Your best bet is probably to not accept IM’s, but, then you can’t get IM’s from anyone (unless they are on your list). Another thing you can try is a program called Y!mLite, which i use, and i have yet to be booted. It’s easy to use, and has a lot of anti-boot features that have yet to be broken. Hope this helps you out a bit. 😎

MemberBascially what that means is that someone (either you or someone else) has tried accessing your account, and didn’t get the password right. You get 10 tries to get the password right, if you don’t, then your account gets locked. It’s a security measure to make sure your account can’t be hacked, not by guessing your password anyways if you’ve got a rather difficult password to crak. Unfortunately, because of this security feature, it has turned out to be another way to boot people, and keep them off for a few days. It’s not perminantly locked, it’s only temporary, unless they just keep doing it every 3 days or so. Hope this helps you out, and just so you know, there isn’t anything you can really do about it. It sucks, I know, but not all fool proof plans are flawless. 🙂

MemberWell, this is kind of the wrong forum for this, but we can help you. One good idea would be to get a packet sniffer such as etherdetect which can be found here http://www.etherdetect.com/ . You can also use netstat in a command prompt to look at any connections that you have established, but your best bet would probably to use etherdetect, or to check the logs of your router/server. Once you have thier current IP address (an old one wouldn’t be good to do this with because they most likely have a dynamic IP address which means it changes every so often). Once you obtain a current IP address (within minutes of the detection) you can do a WHOIS check on it at http://www.samspade.org , which will give you the address of thier ISP. You can then contact that ISP and repor them to their abuse department. That’s about the only thing you can do about it. Also another thing you should know, is that if they are using a web proxy, you won’t be able to make a report to anyone about the abuse, but you should set your hardware firewall (if you have a router or computer set up as a server) to drop ICMP echo requests and other various forms of ping that they use. For more help on this, please reffer to another forum meant for this kind of problem at http://computercops.biz/forums.html . They are very friendly, good with internet security issues, and will be more than happy to assist you. 🙂

MemberYou can have a firewall with dialup. In fact, you can have both a software firewall (which is based on your computer, not what kind of connection you have) and a router firewall. To set up a router firewall, all you need to do is set a computer up as a server and have your computer connect to the server via a network connection. You will then have access to the internet on your dial-up modem, and you’ll be behind a router firewall plus you’ll have a software firewall. The person you were talking to is either very ignorant and just likes to think he/she knows what they are talking about, or they are lying to you on purpose, why, i dont’ know. I hope this helps.

MemberI’m guessing you didn’t even bother to read the Posting Guidlines did you?
Now, in reply to your post, there are plenty of packet sniffers that don’t show any data that was in a packet, at least not in english, it’s all in Hex. And on another note, there are plenty of Packet Sniffers that don’t show any incoming packets, only outgoing. I’ve had experience with several Packet Sniffers. And I’m sure you don’t want to pay for a packet sniffer just to get the boot code, and there has been a post earlier on here about some things to add to the “filter” list which are used to boot, which would save you the money and trouble.
And one last thing, you’re not too bright for calling someone illiterate, when you yourself can barely even spell. You might want to hold off on the insults that also insult you. 😉 You also used illiteracy in the wrong context.
