MemberThis morning I promptly downloaded the new version but despite the new settings some problems still exist ….well the first scans give always lots of false positives these results are independent from any chosen scan system ….it seems like proggy needs a shake down before reaching the right results …..the peer to peer packet remains the more accurate then it’s followed in this order by the invite and avatar try ……..unsakred please could you explain the differences among the new status options in the configure shell ?????? ……coz apparently there’s no evident advantage in using one or another ………there’s also a little bug when you scan a contact list …..well if you don’t clear the display and rescan the list the time will be updated only for the last contact…I don’t know if someone else has been experiencing the same problems …..anyway actually I believe the old version 2.0.0 is still better than this new one ……..
….well guys my time’s up …..have a great day !!!!!!!!

MemberI love 2.1, but I have a suggestion, or just something that might be cool. if you had a lot of time, you could try to work in an auto-updater that could download and install updates right inside the console. Just an idea.

Memberbru,
For some reason, the 2.1 has some sort of bug in it, that doesnt display things correctly, as far as status goes.
Not entirely sure why, 2.1 uses both packet types from 1 and 2.0.
As far as the new settings go, that is for the bot.A few people asked me to make the bot invisible on log in, So I added that option and a few more.
As far as the new version 2.1.3, mainly addresses bugs in the Chat Scanning, there were alot of false responses having to do with chat scanning. Merely for the fact that Buddy Spy:1 was full, thus not allowing the /goto packet.
In 2.1.3, a new room is created based upon the bots ID, and is used as a go between, so the scanning is alot more accurate, also the bot now leaves the room after it is scanned.
Ok, next… Autoupdate, I am working on an autoupdate module for Buddy Spy, it should be done by either 2.1.4 or 2.1.5.
I took the day off today, so I will be playing around with the status settings, and reviewing old source code to see if I cant find whats wrong with the Status settings..
Thanks all,
UnSaKreD

ParticipantUnsakred,
I did some observations on the delay of the return packet:
number of nodes from my pc to yahoo server = 19
average RT = 320 ms
probability to get a return within 1 sec = 20%
probability to get a return within 5 sec = 90%My suggestion is to add a combobox allowing to change the timeout delay 1-10sec or more.

MemberI have problem downloading Buddy-Spy 2.1.3 from http://www.buddy-spy.com. When I go to the download link under “download” it always says Download Full Installer (1.34mb) while it should be 1.12mb.
Anybody got the same problem?

Participanti just downloaded this and tried it out, it worked fine for me.. maybe you have some sort of firewall that's blocking the program from connecting to the internet?

MemberUnsakred…
one of the improvements you can do is to get what winamp is diong right now.. updates and issues are listed in the about menu. that way other developers or even newbies can get a good thing of what is fixed or updated from the previous version… also add to the website the previous instalers of buddy spy… just a link.. I hope this can do well..
wel as for the program itself.. stillsimilar problems im having with the others.. OFFline and ONline staus of users… giving false feedbacks.. online not offline and vice versa.
also would be a great way to include auto scan as an option, lets say for a certail user, right clicking it then say, auto scan every miniute interval or so.. 1, 5, 10, 20..etc… instead of rescanning. might be…
thats it for now.. can test the program much furuther since i've downloaded it this morning.
ciao!!

The link is in the first post of this topic. I believe UnsaKred updates it for every new release.

I tried downloading the version on the website http://www.buddy-spy.com/, however, when I choose download, it asks me if I want to repair or remove buddy spy. THis wouldn't have anything to do with having two previous versions installed already would it? I have never had problems downloading before.

MemberFor my first time I have an error message when running buddy spy. I have successfuly downloaded 2.1.4, but whenever I try to login I get the error message: “running error 429, the ActiveX component can not create the object” I have tried to translate the text from french.
What am I supposed to do?December 15, 2004 at 8:45 am #106462UnSaKreD
MemberBuddy Spy 2.1.x uses a Setup Package, do to .dll's present in the new version.
That way it can register/unregister upon install/uninstall.
If you are using an older version, and wish to upgrade. Uninstall previous versions, then install new version.
Upcoming, I will have an autoupdater so you wont need to download the full setup.exe and dll library's.
Not quite sure in which update that will take place, I am primarily looking over the bugs now. When 2.2 rolls out, It will most likely have the auto udpate, and a few more fun toys that I have in the works.
