i have also found a different problem which is probabley real simple to solve but whats up with only being able to use 3 letters for the welcome message?!?
February 24, 2004 at 12:42 am #86201duckydarby1Memberive download and followed all the instructions …however i get this runtime error when opening the viper …’-2147024770(8007007e)’…automation error …how do i correct that ? 🙂
February 27, 2004 at 4:06 am #86202AngelBabyiisaParticipantOkay i tried and followed everything right down to the letter specified in your instructions and i had both the new_Vbotmdb and the vbot.mdb and when i went to up date said one or both were missing?????? and than i said what the heck i’d try to do if from the screen where it says you need to update and i got this error.runtime error’21476759(80004005)’:could not find programfiles/viperbot/vbot.mdb’. and then this one runtime error 75 path file acess error, i clicked okay and it shut viper down???????????????it seems simple enough but i think it has something to do with when i renamed the file????? or something, but i open to suggestions and i not one to give up easily lol.Any help is appreciated and i hope i not too much of a pain in the butt.
February 28, 2004 at 11:33 pm #86183shifterMemberI’ve simplified the installation instructions and hosted all the files myself so they won’t change unexpectedly. For those who are having problems, please uninstall all of your viperbot files (Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs), and delete what’s leftover in the C:/Program Files/Viperbot folder and start over from scratch. I’ve tested these instructions and they worked perfectly for me. Good Luck!
March 1, 2004 at 6:47 pm #86241diplomatviennaMemberSorry shifter I made a mistake by sending my message to “New topic”:o
When a wanted to download the new files for viper, two of them did’nt work.
Vbot database and msn connection VProxy DLL.
It said : 404 Error-file not found
Normaly I speak Dutch so I hope I did’nt write to many faults 🙂
ThanksMarch 1, 2004 at 9:34 pm #86182shifterMemberYes, I saw and I replied that the links were fixed, please try again.
March 2, 2004 at 8:21 am #86240diplomatviennaMemberEverything worked thanks.
But there’s another thing that I don’t understand.
“1. Make sure you already have an existing group chatroom in which your bots Passport is joined and in at least the co-manager position”.[/b]
How do I join my Passport in the chatroom? and what means the co-manager position?
I don’t know how to do this.
Thanks and sorry but I’m not so good in viper, you may here many times from me in the futur:oMarch 2, 2004 at 9:14 am #86181shifterMemberThat is refering to your MSN Community Group. The passport you use with ViperBot, must be registered as a co-manager in your MSN Community in order to have full hosting priveledges in your Community Chat Room.
March 2, 2004 at 12:43 pm #86239diplomatviennaMemberok thanks but, how do I put the passport in my community?
March 2, 2004 at 5:48 pm #86180shifterMemberSame way you put everyone else in. Members need to apply to your group to participate, so you need to apply using the bots MSN passport. Then give it co-manager or manager as its Member Role (assuming this is your group & you are already a manager yourself).
See the Group Help for more info.
March 3, 2004 at 10:19 am #86238diplomatviennaMemberNow I understand what co-manager means, thanks, it was my language problem.
But of cause I already have another one:DI run Vgrabber, I fill in the url of my chatgroup, I choose a user account, I hit “go”, Viper is in de chatgroup but when I hit Parce nothing happens, it does’nt fill in nothing.
What am I doing wrong?
Can you please help me?March 5, 2004 at 8:29 am #86237diplomatviennaMemberNo reply anymore, thank you very much
March 5, 2004 at 8:57 am #86179shifterMemberI’m sorry, I don’t always have time to be your personal assistant. [:P]
I really don’t know why its not parsing, it works fine for me. The only thing I can suggest is to make sure your are running it from the Viperbot directory – “C:/Program Files/ViperBot/”
March 5, 2004 at 12:17 pm #86236diplomatviennaMemberdon’t always have time to be your personal assistant?????
I’m sorry you feel that way after I only asked you two questions.
And the first one was’nt even a question, it was only to inform you that the links you gave us were not working.
Maybe I got a little upset yes, but that’s only because the f*cking thing never works !!!
I will not ask you a third question, but after turning my pc upside down, viper still does’nt work, so I guess I gonna give up, ’cause viper is more a pain in the … than all the people together in my chatgroup.March 5, 2004 at 5:24 pm #86188shifterMemberWhen someone adds a smiley to the end of a statement, its intended to infer a joke. I was not being serious. I saw you were upset and thought it would lighten you up. I’m sorry you couldn’t get Viperbot working, it can be a pain. I figured it out from scratch, so I know how picky ViperBot is to get working, thats why I wrote the tutorial.
You never did answer if you had the Vgrabber in the correct directory. But if you’ve given up, I guess it won’t matter. 🙁
