ok my question is this …i want to stop anyone who is not ment to be a host becoming one I know by clicking -o box viper will dehost all who enter.
but how do I tell viper not to dehost me or another mod.
i tried adding my nick/ident to the op lists but it still dehosts me when I enterHi Shifter 🙂
I’ve just installed viperbot, and all runs ok until I take it into my community chat room. It’s fine to get in, but the screen changes to a blue one in seconds and changes from URL…ignoring the address I have just put in, and coming up with the room name, but not opening as such. The address bar no longer has URL …it has letter and numbers. Sorry I’m vague, but haven’t used this kind of thing before, so unsure what its doing.

Speaking of questions 🙂 I have one. Can Viper Bot only be used in Community Chat rooms? Or, can it be used in pay chat rooms if I have a paid subscription? Thanks.
Hades – I will have to test that out, I won’t have time to do this until tonight or tommorrow, I’ll see what I can come up with.
dory74 – I don’t quite understand what the problem is, are you unable to connect in <> to your chatroom? Have you updated ViperBot with the patch for v3.83.16e? Where do you end up when your url turns to numbers?
Needs – Yes, you can use it for subscriber chat as well. I have a tutorial for that here.

Could’nt find help before so I gave up.
But today I thougt lets try again. Guess I have a spooky pc because when I downloaded everything, installated and double klickt on Vgrabber there was the sound of a little bell witch means that it can not be opened.
That’s something new ! Did’nt have this one before.
Why is all this happening to me ? 😮
I like to have viper soooo much but it seems there’s always a problem.I’ve updated the tutorial again, hopefully this may solve your problem. Unfortunately, I am currently unable enter MSN Chat or run the MSN Chat software for reasons unknown. So I cannot even test how well this latest update works. Let me know if this update helped.
Same problem here. Can’t get connection with my chatroom.
Software can not be downloaded.
Seems if you buy a new pc or make a format MSN does not allow you anymore in de chats.
I already have a few people in my group with the same problem.
All we can do is wait and see what MSN is up to this time.
I already wrote a message to MSN but still did’nt get an antswer.If you still can’t get in MSN chat maybe I can help.
I had the same problem but I downloaded “MsnChat45.ocx” and put it in “C:WINDOWSsystem”
Then went to “start”… “run” and then wrote “C:WINDOWSsystemmsnchat45.ocx”
After the installation it worked for me.My english is not so good so I hope you understand what I wrote:p

Ok… I’d like to make a response to this.
1. I am not a ViperBot Expert. I just made a simple tutorial that worked for me. If you have problems, I will do my best to help, but I am not your personal assistant here.
2. I don’t believe I’ve refered to anyone as a newbie here. I don’t personally know enough to be out of that league myself.
3. Its not MY bot. I am in no way affliated with Viperbot. I am just trying to help people use it to the best of my ability.
4. Since creating these tutorials to help users such as yourself i’ve been cursed at, ridiculed and harrassed by a number of you when I don’t have a suitable answer for Viperbot problems. This is unacceptable to me.
Now, I haven’t responded to your problem above because 1) I cannot get into MSN Chat as I stated earlier, 2) I haven’t had a chance to try your fix, and 3) I have other responsibilities that make it difficult to find time to troubleshoot problems that require me to actually try and duplicate the problem and figure out what went wrong.
I am almost ready to lock these topics as I am sick of attitudes like yours.
For those members who are confused about what to expect from this topic, please remember that I am a moderator, not a support tech. I started this topic with the hope of making Viperbots installation easier. I have been able to answer alot of your questions, and am truly glad to help. But as of now, I find it neccessary to detail what exactly I will do for you.
1.) I will continue updating the tutorial to the best of my ability, as things change constantly.
2.) I can not guarantee answers to everyones problems.
3.) When I do not reply or perhaps even miss your question, assume that I do not the answer off the top of my head but will research it when time allows me to. Until then I will expect you to refer to the following sites:

Strange you had the time to answer hades questions about 15 times, but when I asked a question you said “sorry can’t be your personal assistent”
So you can be for hades but not for me?
And in case you put the name “newbie” again under other people’s name, I want everybody to know what it really means :A newbie is a person who thinks he’s clever but in reallity he is as dom as hell.

Your general definition of newbie is quite harsh, and very innaccurate.

please do not bring me into your arguements maybe my questions were answered as shifter could when he couldnt or what he said didnt help me like I hoped I looked elsewhere and did a hell of alot of searching but in the end I found what I needed even if I did annoy a few with all my questions and this forum is like most with calling new ppl who post newbies so what I was a newbie and still am its a name and does me no harm so dont care thankyou I did come to ask something but seems some what of a bad time so will look elsewhere lol
