i wouldn’t call them teenagers, since the guy that kept booting me was 20 years old! Now, he was imature! He had to harrass me and boot me off y! msger!!..Anyway i wrote about it in my first post, which is recent! So check it out, if you want!!…i need help!
I have a question about the code to stop booters from booting me , me and a friend opened the file and saw alot of nice (nasty) words … and I wanted to know if we were suppose to delete the words and then type donw the code or just add it along with the curse words …because I went and delteted then being the moron that I am …If I messed up someone please help me . . .Bye and thanks
Emblem, that file basically acts as a filter, preventing people from sending you those words or codes. You can edit the bad words out if you don’t mind seeing them used in messages, or keep them in. The bad words in there don’t have anything to do with booters.
So it doesnt matter that I deleted it ???? …..And it should work right ? I typed in everything and saved it and thats it right ? , and I cant get booted anymore ?….Thank you for the fast reply . . . .
im new to this.. and for some reason someone has me on their hit list. I have stay alive 2002.. but its a trail version and I would really like help to stop these aholes from booting me from the room, and maybe see who it is trying to hack my putor. so can you explain step bi step what I need to do to be protected from booters. where do I find these files that you are talking about so as to keep me n my computor safe…

Well, I doubt anyone is trying to hack your computer, but adding the codes that jeff mentioned in the very beginning of this topic will help you become more resistant to boots. Other programs that are good with handling boots are Y!mLite, which I use and haven’t had a problem with being booted. For those who want to use this program, here’s a quick tutorial on how to set it up:
First, go here to download Y!mLite (if you choose to use this particular program) http://www.chat-help.co.uk/~ymlite/
When you first open Y!mLite, you’ll be presented with a box that asks for your name, password, and what server you want to log onto. Obviously you’ll need to enter your username and password, and click on either the DHTML server or the YCHT server.
(The difference between the DHTML server and the YCHT server is that when people join a chat room, if you’re on DHTML you’ll see some of their profile information, but you won’t see that on YCHT, so if that gets annoying when you’re on DHTML, just switch over to YCHT server. They are both equally protective against boots).
Once you’ve put in your name, password, and chosen the server you want to log onto, click the Reset Cookie button, and then click log in.
When you first log in, go to the File menu at the top of the page, click on it, and look for the “Y!options” menu option. Once you’re in the options page, click on the “Flood and Filters level” tab, and set the “Security” setting to “Flood – Super High.” Then in the middle of the page and to the right, click on the “Bot catcher settings” to load the preset bot catcher options, and then you’ll be all set.If you need more help, click on the Help menu at the top, and click on “Online Help (Chat Help) and it will direct you to the site that sponsers Y!mLite, and you’ll be able to find lots of help there either on the onsite readme, the FAQ’s, or in thier forum. Im sorry to bust your bubble people but the Simple addation of those words and codeing to the filter1 file will not keep you from being booted.:eek: The best thing to keep you from being booted is Ytunnle. It canbe found at Ytunnlepro.com……No the downside of ytunnle is that not only is it a program you have to pay for… It can be booted also. If you run Yahoo messenger or even go to yahoo and use the Java chat YOU CAN be booted. There is nothing to stop you from being booted. Any question please post.still confused.. jeff tried to explain how even if you have a person on ignore, or see thm on cam, or on the mic, or chatting in the room, or better yet not be in the same room as you and still be able to boot u.. and everythng he said went over my head.lol but thnks to the fact.. that this is the plce to cum to whn you need it.. I will be able to learn it step bi step…lol if you want to know who is booting u.. you can try stayalive2002..trail version 1st and see if you like it. with this program I at lease no who my enmies are..lol and ytunnel is also a very highly recommend program.. cant do with out it..but I guess your right.. if thy want to boot you thy will… just a matter of time
even though I know little about computers at that except certain things …i have a feeling booter programs havent all that much to do with iming….in fact I think they are goin straight to your 5050 or 5101 port and sending things to overload it ….uhhh yeah sounds farfetched but really booting has been ceased by far
i don’t think it worked.
i keep getting PM’ed by a B_0mb000 that sends me hundreds of PM’s after that. it ends up crashing my messenger soon after.
what can I do???? HELP!!
For a good chat program that works very well against boots, please refer to my post on the page just before this one. It provies a link to the program, and information on how to set it up so that you will be as boot proof as one can be.

YmLite is a decent program, I suppose, but does require some adjusting before one is “boot-proof” .
A program that runs well “out of the box” is YahElite, found at http://yahelite.org As with the other chat clients, to foil booters, YahElite must be used in the ‘YCHT’ protocol.
YahElite may not be as simple as some of the other clients, but if you take a bit of time to explore it’s functions, I believe you’ll be pleased by it’s configurability. ( And if it were a pay program, you can be sure I’d be asking David for royalties for all the plugs I’ve given him over the years. 😉 )
