it appears that Messenger 6 doesn’t use filter1.txt. It has been replaced with filter1.enc, which I assume means encoded
How do I add codes 2 the .enc file or alternatively in Messenger 6?
about yazak….. it has problem with YM6…. it cannot log in to the server….. and the GUI is not the best…. and it need vbruntime dlls
At the time of this post Yahoo is having YMSG problems, it may take up to 6 or even 7 attempts at logging in using YMSG.
It’s been a while since I last used this board, the main developments for y!mlite are…
Now supports all 3 the major protocols, YMSG, DHTML (Chat2) and YCHT (which allows caps in your ID)
** Y!mLite has new Antiboot commands in there, simply by typing /maxsecurity it will change the protocol, turn off pms
to anyone but your friends and configure y!mlite to be as
boot proof as possible as it can be, I have yet to see anyone
get around it…Skins are a new feature to y!mlite, you can have it looking like
a mac or a linux machine or a whole new OS and of course XP
and Win9X and even 3.1 looking themes 🙂P.S if you got a beefed up machine try /egg2 (1gig CPUs+) in 2K/XP

http://www.almdev.com/prods/baseskins.zip simply extract them into your ymliteskin folder and then menu > color schemes > select skin, then look for one of the folders it makes and select a .ini file from it 🙂

i have 2 questions,when you put the codes in,is there away to test them to see if they work?and you said filter1.txt,,mine onlt says filter1,,are they the same?
does Y!mLite support webcam so that I can see some of ny friends webcam in the room….. we have a room so that we watch each other….
Ok heres my two cents worth and although it dont stop all boots it does seem to stop a few , especially the conference packets ( most usually made this way). I’m running xp but didnt follow thru with the first option as to put it plainly a real pain in the ass. I like things simply – hey im a cat feed me im happy 😀 should I put up a disclaimer now ….. “i won’t be responsible etc etc ” This file explains how you can stop other users from kicking your voice using a firewall or ipsec
1.if you have windows xp Pro or Windows Server 2003 do the following
start -> run then type gpedit.msc {enter}
Computer Configuration – > Windows Settings -> Security Settings – > Ip security Policies
right click – > create ip security policy – > next – > next – > next -> next -> yes -> finish
now a window should popup saying new ip security properties
click add -> next -> next -> next -> yes – > click custom and then click edit
add – > next – > next – > protocol type UDP – > check from this port and type 5000 -> next – > next ->ok
next – > select permit and click edit – > check block under security methods tab – > ok
check permit – > next – > nextfinally right click on your new policy and click assign. now your using tcp for voice instead of udp
and any attempt to kick your voice will most likely fail.2.if you are using a firewall just block udp port 5000 and you should be fine

Alleycat, awesome post ;). I just want to tell everyone that booting no longer consistes of little HTML boot codes sent through API, as mention by a few people getting “Cam bombed” and such.
Most boot programs nowadays do NOT send boot codes through API (Application Programming Interface), rather they make the user login a bot ID (A Yahoo! ID that is created merely for using with booting programs) and log it in, and THAT ID sends the packets to screw up your Messenger, causing it to log out either by confusing Yahoo! and forcing you to log out, or sometimes there are boots that will freeze your computer, aka flooding. Just editing the filter will NOT even protect you from HALF of the boots used now, since booters no longer use the API boot because Yahoo! did a good job on patching that part.
Of course people may find more exploits later (I had a friend who found how to load an Iframe (inline frame) inside the PM boxes and chat rooms (it can open your C drive in the chat room for instance) on the beta Yahoo! Messenger 6. But it was fixed on final release.
If you want great boot protection, you need to do more than one thing. A solution I’ve found to be great is not go in chat rooms a lot, but I know a lot of you do. Click here for a small but to the point article I wrote on stopping booters.
Summer_Breeze it has apparently been rename on the new messenger, look for filter and open it with Notepad.
dragonmaze2000 yes, you just have your computer settings set to not show the file extensions like .exe, .txt, ECT.

filter1.txt no longer is there, yahoo is using XML, which is much more flexible and does the job a whole lot better.
filter1.txt is just for word filters, you have to make sure word filter is on strong and on strong..
But I don’t think you can really edit it anymore..

Having read all the three pages I tried just 2 of them , the first one failed, the second worked FANTASTIC!!!!
1st the bad news, the link of http://www.trillain.cc/ didnt work, rather the following thing is seen at the site “We have great news for you! The domain TRILLAIN.CC is not currently registered. This means that you may register the domain now, before anyone else registers it.”
and now the GOOD NEWS, I have downloaded the full Ymlite from http://www.chat-help.co.uk/~ymlite/ and it was on 20 Aug 04, and it worked perfectly against all booters. Not a single booter , from a gang of booters cud boot me. Ahhh!!! but yes my ymlite was also at full max secuirty. the instructions on the page 2 of this forum also worked great.
Please carry out the instructions properly and happy chatting. Byeee and hope the bugs if any in this are not found for a long time!!!!
