ParticipantI have also found that if you suddenly disconnect from the internet (ex. unplug your DSL modem or other modems) or click Exit on the AIM man instead of clicking Sign Off, it still shows up as if you were logged in. SO if you sign on another screen name, it will still show that name as logged in. It happens to me all the time.

ParticipantYou have to pay for pop3 access for most e-mail accounts. MSN, Hotmail, Yahoo, and most other free accounts offer this service only to paying customers.

ParticipantIn the AIM Preferences go to the Sign On/Off Category. Check Start AIM When Windows Starts. Click Ok.
If for some reason that does not work, click Start -> Run. Type in msconfig. Click the Startup tab then check aim. Then click Ok.AIMXPressMod

ParticipantYes, it is possible to do with making your own expression. But I don’t think anyone ever does that. Too time consuming.

ParticipantAdd-ins, Add-ons whatever…I don’t know then. In AIMutation you have to set it to where the taskbar will blink when you receive an IM.

ParticipantOn mine if I disconnect from the internet just suddenly, it still keeps me logged into AIM, but im not sure if that works forever.

ParticipantQuote:quote:Originally posted by hellslaveFor some reason, when I recieve an IM in a window that’s out of focus, the task bar no longer flashes. I looked in the prefs. section, and found a setting for chat rooms, but not private IM conversations. Is this a bug or glitch in the latest AIM version, or was this something that was removed on purpose? If it was removed on purpose, is there anything I can get, as far as a patch or something, to make my previous version of AIM no longer obsolete?
Thanks in advance.
Are you using any add-ins?

ParticipantYou can manually save the expression by right clicking and then Save Target As then add it to the resource folder.

ParticipantMiddle Man works with AIM 5.5 and has those features.
AIMXPressMod
ParticipantOn Middle Man you can remove yourself from someone’s buddy list.
