i had the same problem. my router was defecitve so we got a new one. I found a solution tho until I got the new router. my aim woudl disconnenct like every 5 minutes and I figured out that in order for it to stay connected, you hit the reset button in the back. hold it in for like 10 seconds. then when I did that my aim woudltn stay on past a day and a few h0ours so I hit reset again for 10 seconds and it let me stay on for another whole day.
so if it disconnects you a lot then reset your router as soon as you sign on. if you leave your computer on then every 24 hours reset your router.

you could get profileamp8 or 7.5 or something. I forget the site I got it from, maybe someone on here knows it or just do a google search for it. its a really neat program that lets you do a lot of stuff to your profile wihtout anyone ever having to click on any links to see the new things youve added.
when you get that message and you dont wait and you try to sign on again like 5-10 minutes later then it resets the time so you have to wait longer. its usually just like 20 minutes for me so just wait that long or an hour like ys8er said.
maybe its not working cause thats an illegal place to get it. you’re only supposed to get deadaim from jdennis
maybe the person asked someone who you do have on your buddylist to copy and paste your profile and give it to them.
david, im simply letting people know that my defective router was the cause of my aim signing me on and off every 5-10 minutes. people want to know why there aim is slow so im just giving them a possible reason..jeez.
routers cause this. well they cause you to sign off but you not knowing it because your buddylist is still showing. if you have one then read the topic ‘help aim keeps siging me off’
when I had my defective router and coudlnt get a new one for a while I figured out a way to fix my signing on and off problem that my router was causing. everytime you sign on imediatly take a pen or something and use the tip to reset your router. hold the reset button in for 10-20 seconds. I dont know why it works but it fixed my problem and I woudlnt sign off anymore. you must do this everytime you sign on aim and if you’re someone who leaves your aim on 24/7 then you have to reset your router every 24 hours.
this only works if the router is at your computer though. I noticed my other computer all the way across the house didnt fix the aim problem.
i dont know why it was causing the problem but my router was defective and it just caused my aim to sign me off all the time but the buddylist woudl still be up. it didnt show that I was signed off. I coudl tell I was signed off when I would view a profile and all it said was please wait… and if I imed someone it woudl take forever to send. after a few minutes (since I never realized I was signed off) it would sign me back on and send my IM and show me the profile I wanted to view. it wasnt ruining my internet tho. it was just aim that it was harming.
what version of aim do you have to be running for ostego to work and will it work with deadaim? I know someone said it worked along with deadaim but I just want to make sure.
i dont believe that. I really dont think thats possible. even if it did work the info.htm only allows you a certain amount of characters even though its more than the 1024 your profile allows…
please explain how you got 450 people on your list cause thats something ive never heard of. it resets every time you sign on I thought.
