I have MSN 5.0…im not sure about the whole firewall running, i dunno if i have one which is really the problem i have.
“We could not send this file because the connection is blocked. Please contact your system administrator or Internet service provider; they may be able to enable file transfers.”
That is the error message…
I hope that is a bit more specific for you!!

Colored nicknames work also with messenger plus, which you can download from here: http://www.msgplus.net the only inconvenience is that it looks a bit silly for your contacts that don’t have the plus extension…
To create a colored nickname follow these steps:
1. Open a conversation window with a contact. You need to create your colored name here, because MP2’s color popup won’t work in the Messenger Options window.2. Type the first character of your new name. Messenger won’t allow the first character to be a color code, so you need something else. If you want the color to start at the beginning of your name, the best first character is a non-breaking space. To make this character, turn on the Num Lock on your keyboard, hold down the Alt key, and type 0160 using the number keypad on the right side of your keyboard.
· Some people use a dot (.) as the first character, which works just as well, but it’s visible in your name.
3. Now type the name. When you want to make colored text, hold down the Ctrl key and press K. A small box full of colors should pop up. Choose the color you want, and it’s code will be added to your name. The text you type after this code will be colored.
· Different text formats can be used too. They are bold (Ctrl+B), italic (Ctrl+T), and underline (Ctrl+U).
· To end a piece of colored or formatted text, insert the reset code with Ctrl+O. All text after it will be the normal style until you use another color/format code.
· To get a background color, use the Ctrl+K feature twice in a row. Choose the text color first, and the background color second. The two codes should look like this…(255,255,255) (000,000,000) or this… 1 0
Now replace the second “” character with a comma, so the codes look like this…
(255,255,255),(000,000,000) or this… 1,0
4. Select everything that you just typed by pressing Ctrl+A, then press Ctrl+C to copy it to the clipboard.
· If you want, you can also use the “Select All” and “Copy” commands by opening the “Edit” menu or by right-clicking the text.
5. Switch to the main Messenger window (contact list), then open the Options by selecting “Options” in the “Tools” menu.6. Delete your old name from the display name box, and paste in the new one by pressing Ctrl+V or by right-clicking the box and selecting “Paste.”
7. Click the “OK” button to change your name. You’re done.
