Well I got the yahoo mail to be my default…and when I thought the problem with that pop-up was done…I started getting it again. So I don’t know what to do now…I have ran everything…spybot S&D-spyware blaster-AdAware-malwarebytes-superantispyware-ATF Cleaner-CCleaner-Avast…I even cleaned the computer in safe mode like I was told…still here. Any other ideas?
Well I don’t have anti spy stuff on my toolbar…I do run my CCleaner once a week…and I’m a real freako when it comes to keeping my system clean n free of anything. I’ll try getting on it after my initial clean tomorrow…I clean system on Sunday thoroughly.
I already ran that malwarebytes and ATF…still nothing. My DH said it started after he installed yahoo 8 but then he didn’t want that version so he uninstalled it…Can I just totally uninstall yahoo completely and start fresh? Will he lose any contacts or favoritesif I can do this?
So how do I get all my contacts from my AIM to this Disgby? I think I’d like to try it just want to spend 10 hours transferring all my contacts…lol
I still don’t know the difference between hosted & multi client messanging…But I also need to know if I can just or how I can move all my contacts over to the one I decide to go with…Thanks again for input;)
What exactly is the difference between hosted and mulit-client messanging? Which one doesn’t take up much space or slow my system down? I’m not familiar with any of these so sorry for being dumb dumb like:o

Ok this is weird…I was trying to run it again to get exactly what it said…and it loaded…lol…dont know why it wouldnt before but I got it…
Thanks again all and I’ll let you know how it turned out;)Ok…I trid to install that revouninstaller and it wouldn’t let me…a window popped up during the install saying something about win32…now what?
Ok here’s an update…Only because this is bugging the hell out of me…I went into the AIM Download…its above this forum…scrolled down to where it says AIM Ad Hack for AIM 5.9.3861(or something like that…i’m pretty close) and it seems to be working fine now. I think I’d know for sure if I had someone to IM…everyone seems to be out or something…lol But anyways…it seemed to fix the problem. Apparently there must be something that got added like hacked or something like that and this download cleaned it all and hopefully it works now. If you try this let me know how you made out. Well I didn’t try that AIMfix so I just did. I first uninstalled the triton version and went to make sure it was removed from my control panel…it was…then I double checked and did a search and removed all of aim and restarted…then I reinstalled the 5.9.3861 version and did the aimfix…it didn’t work at all. When I went onto aim it still did what it was doing before. So now I have to uninstall it and reinstall the triton version that I don’t like. Do you think I should turn off all my other things…like my spyware stuff…adaware and anti virus and try to reinstall it? Its just a thought…or am I never gonna be able to use this version again and am stuck with the triton version. Please…anybody else have this problem and how did you fix it or what did you do? Really appreciate any help anyone can offer here.:o
Once again I’m glad to see that it isn’t only me that this is happening to. Although I am sorry that you’re going thru the same thing. I too am very pissed off cuz I also can’t IM anyone cuz they say it messes up their computer as well. And I also have gone thru everything you did and found nothing as well. Do you think we should report this to AIM or someone from AOL? There has to be something wrong on their part if it’s happening to several other people. Anybody have any other suggestions? 😮
