MemberI’ve tried downloading firefox(that was my 2nd browser) and the same thing keeps happening, i also did a disk clean up,ran adaware, spybot…and defrag and its still not working right, its puzzling. *note* after i reinstalled IE 6 and it was still doing it, i went ahead and took that out and installed back 7 because i liked it better.

Memberirateb wrote:Hello. My work laptop recently got “refreshed” from Win2K to WinXP, SP1. The first thing I tried to install was Yahoo Messenger, and the install worked fine. However, when I try to launch Yahoo Messenger, the cursor turns into an hour glass for a few seconds, and then nothing. I brought the Task Manager window up to see if the ypager.exe process was stuck, but it wasn’t there, and never comes up even during the few seconds where it looks like the laptop is doing something after I try to launch it. I thought it may have been a local policy issue, but I am a local admin on the laptop and MSN Messenger and AIM installed just fine. AIM is the only one able to connect, but that is a different problem. Any ideas why Yahoo Messenger won’t even start?*UPDATE* I still don’t know what the issue was, but uninstalling 7.0, reinstalling 6.0, and then installing 7.0 again fixed the problem.
this has been happening to me here lately…go to your task manager and then end your Y Pager.exe and then try to start your yahoo messenger back up…thats what worked for me.
