MemberSome seniors at my highschool call me “meat” (why, I dunno, they don’t know either)

MemberWow… some of you guys have it easy. If your parents not buying you a phone, shoes, or surge protectors are the worst things happening in your life, that’s not so bad. Look, it’s your parents. What they say goes, you don’t HAVE to like it, you just have to mind you parents and respect their decision. And whining and moaning about how bad their parenting skills are is kinda mean, since you’re the teenager living under their house. Just be a little more understanding, and they might be a little more rewarding.

Memberyes it’s real. It was in an older issue of Popular Science about a year or so ago. My mom threw out all of my old issues, so I have no idea where to find this…

Memberheh, its really not that scary I promise, i’m just bad at describing things…

MemberI currently own Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. I really like it, but I do wish the developers had spent a little more time on the graphical aspects of the game a.k.a. CUT SCENES! But it’s a great game nonetheless… any more suggestions?

Memberthere are two jacks for you to plug your speakers into on some computers. One jack causes the speakers to make no sound, the other is the correct jack. The color around the rim of the jack should be either green or pinkish, depending on what computer you use.

MemberWell Macs hold about 2% of the market share when it comes to computers. And I will admit that although you get a lot of bang for your buck w/ Apple products, a sale here and there is always nice. And if I were Steve Jobs, I would want to be able to compete with the rest of the computer manufacturing world, and offer competitive prices on my product. But that’s just me. And I will admit that not ALL of Apple products are outrageously priced, they just walk the line with people like you and me. But the investment is a good one I believe, macs do last quite a while, and perform extremely well. But look at it this way, as fast as our technology is developing nowadays who knows what will become of OSX and Windows in the future, even Linux!
FirefoxMan
Membertrue. But do you think Windows would be as good as it was when they were with WinNT as the core of their product, or do you think it would be kinda like a whole new product with a lot of bugs?
FirefoxMan
Memberdo you really think that microsoft would be willing to make a switch like that? I’m not an expert of anything that has to do with the core of of OSX or Windows, but isn’t Windows now based off of its own WinNT. And if Microsoft moves to Unix, wouldn’t they have to make some major changes to Windows itself?
I totally agree that Linux is coming of age, but I don’t think that regular users are going to just go out and get a distro of Linux, not everyone is knowlegable enough to burn ISO’s to a disc, or how to setup partitions, etc… I predict that a mainstream company is going to have to advertise and distribute preinstalled Linux machines before everyone goes out and starts buying. but again, i’m no expert, i’m just making a reasonable guess.

Memberwell I think that Apples day is coming. With the iPod becoming more popular, people are bound to look into more of Apple’s products. Apple also is giving Microsoft a run for it’s money w/ the new iMacs and the future release of OSX Tiger. Home users are becoming more aware of the looming threat of viruses and spyware and are now doing their homework when buying computers. Linux is also getting bigger too. The Unix revolution is near, it’s just not happening yet. Just watch, Microsoft probably is going to have to step it up to keep lots of people worldwide from switching from other systems…

MemberI’m in high school, and a job for teens only pays so much… If only there was a way for students to buy macs at a reasonable price. That’s what I want, cuz my parents are windows users, but they’re willing to get me a mac if I pay for most of it… but wanting a powerbook that costs almost $2000 dollars compared to our new Dell which cost about half of that (and it’s a really nice, reliable desktop too), it’s hard to make that commitment y’know when you’ve been so used to the prices of windows computers…

MemberI see ya’lls point, but to me, I would hold a sale everyonce in a while. I would think that if you make a great product, and sell it for less money once in a while (like a holiday sale, etc…) lots of regular consumers like us would be more willing to buy a mac…. does that make sense?
