Well, it’s been resolved. Here is what I did (this might be useful in the FAQ or something as I’ve found a lot of other people having the same issue).
Scenario A: If you plan to wipe yourself completely off Yahoo (mail, profiles, IM, 360…), first go through and manually delete everything off your 360 page, then delete your Yahoo account.
Scenario B: If you have already deleted your Yahoo account and were hoping that it would automatically delete your 360 profile and it didn’t, go to the Yahoo 360 Beta Feedback Page.
Fill out the form and for Question 4 select “Other Feedback.” In the box below explain to them that you’ve deleted your Yahoo account and would like your 360 deleted as well. It will take them a while (three weeks in my case) to respond. Here is what they emailed me:
Hello,
Thank you for writing to Yahoo! 360.
We’re sorry that you have decided to close your Yahoo! 360 account. For
security and privacy purposes (i.e. to ensure that the 360 account is
being cancelled by the actual account owner), please reply to this
message and include the following verification information:1. The 360 Nickname of the account you would like to close.
2. The URL on the Yahoo! 360 page (e.g.
http://360.yahoo.com/profile-hashed
group of numbers and letters).3. Your Yahoo! ID
4. Your Date of Birth
5. The ZIP/Postal code which you provided us at the time of
registration
.6. Your Email Address. This is the non-Yahoo! address you entered
duringregistration or when you last updated the account)
7. Secret Question and Answer. If you do not know your question, please
supply the first four items of verification and we will send your
question via email.Once we have verified the account information, we will be able to
process your request and close your Yahoo! 360 account. Thank you for
your cooperation.Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.
Regards,
Yahoo! Customer Care
http://www.yahoo.com/I was able to respond with answers to every question except for the last one. (I forgot.) After waiting another week without a response, I emailed them again for an update. Within an hour my old 360 profile was deleted.
Hope this helps.
IndyToneMemberRIght on. I’m also thinking that once 360 has gone from Beta to an actual release it might be deleted since there’s technically no account pointing to the 360 page. We’ll see. Anyone know the date at which they presume to have 360 “official”?
IndyToneMemberEagle_Kiwi wrote:Having got this far, IF you want to COMPLETELY DELETE your 360: … well, you can’t! (Not unless you close your whole Yahoo A/c, which would then delete your 360 PLUS your access to YM, Y!Games, and any other passworded Yahoo stuff).BUT, what you CAN do is set all the options in your 360 to “Private”, then YOU will be the only one who will ever see “your” page. (If you like you can also delete much of the info too, but there’s not much point, when it’s all totally “Private”.)
Unfortunately, the first paragraph is incorrect. Like I said, I closed my entire account and the only thing that remains is the 360 page.
As for the second paragraph, I can’t even access my 360 options since my login info will no longer work since the deletion of my account.
IndyToneMemberDanke!
IndyToneMemberThank you! Looks like it won’t work as she’s on Sprint. Odd that they wouldn’t support mobile messaging even though Sprint supports the use of Messenger on their phones.
What’s weird is that I have another friend who is on Tmobile (which Yahoo says is supported), but her phone number comes up as unsupported as well. However, I have people’s who do not have the area code entered in their details and it says they ARE supported. How could you send a text message without the area code? lol
IndyToneMemberThanks fellas. I’ve tried your suggestions and still nothing. Looks like I’m on lockdown here. Oh well.
IndyToneMemberJeff wrote:Is the “built-in” instant messenger in Lotus Notes different than Lotus Sametime (what I use at work)? Because if it’s Sametime, were you aware that there is a Sametime plug-in for Trillian Pro?I believe it is. Unfortunately, as I’ve mentioned in my connection thread (https://bigblueball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30974), I haven’t been able to get anything but Yahoo and ICQ proper to work on my work laptop. 😐
IndyToneMemberWe use the instant messenger that is built into Lotus Notes 6.x.
I have to take this opportunity to say that with the fire of 10,000 suns I hate Lotus Notes.
IndyToneMemberThe best part about that game is the audio. The music and sound effects are great; however, at the top of my list will always be the fact that David Cross did a lot of the dialog for the soldiers.
IndyToneMemberEverytime I go to run YahooFileSafe.exe I get an error:
“Component comdlg32.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered.
IndyToneMemberDanke.

it.
IndyToneMemberI must be missing something here… did it really take you ~212 hours to download WinAmp?
IndyToneMemberI just got a DVD burner for $115 that burns both DVD+ and -. (http://store.yahoo.com/livewarehouse/dvne28950.html) Now I just need to learn how to rip/burn them so they will play on my Sony DVP-NC655.
Good free software for this (so I’ve been told) is DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink plus what ever commercial burning software you might have.
IndyToneMemberMP3TrimPro will do this.
Although it is NOT freeware as requested.
