I suppose I can IM the creator and ask him… 😀
JerkyChewMemberNope, cuz I’ve requested the password a few times, with no luck.
It looks like AIM doesn’t store the password locally after 5.2, but I was able to pull the hash out. Now I just have to figure out how to decrypt it.
JerkyChewMemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by CoxsackieVirusAOL is mostly for the people like Windows XP. Windows XP can be hacked easly. Theres no use for a password at startup. Theres a way to hack into it and I will not be telling. Its extreamly complicated and dangereouse to the computer. You should only do it if you lock yourself out of the computer.
No, it’s not complicated, and no, it’s not all that dangerous. The thing is, you have to be sitting at the machine to do it. I use it all the time at work.
JerkyChewMemberSeems interesting, but for 20 bucks I think I’ll stick to the free addons, such as DeadAIM or MyIM. A.I.M. Frame needs to add some kind of killer app, like built-in video streaming or something, to get me to shell out my hard-earned cash.
JerkyChewMemberHowsabout some screen shots? Also, the theme song doesn’t work.
JerkyChewMemberThanks, Jeff, but that link points to a folder that no longer exists on AOL’s FTP server.
I checked out those ZDnet links, and the only AIM ones for my iPaq pointed to the same dead link on AOL’s ftp server.
Here’s the site where they want my money for the client:

Guess I’m still stuck. Every once in a while it will work in standard mode, but this is the exception, not the rule.
JerkyChewMemberYou sure it’s running in super mode? When the cam is up and running, look in the bottom right corner of your window. Does it say it’s in “Super mode format”, or does it say super mode unavailable? Sounds to me like you’re not in super mode.
JerkyChewMemberThis is a neat app. It’s the first one I’ve gotten to stream video through my firewall, which is a feat in itself. I like that they let you change the default ports (my firewall is also my webserver, so I didn’t want it taking over port 80). Remapped it to ports 81 and 8181, updated the firewall, and everything was happy.
One of the neat things is the security feature they put in. If you invite somebody to view your cam, it sends them a link (I only use AIM… dunno about MSN). If another user tries viewing the cam with that link, it won’t let them. Kinda nice touch if you wanna have a private conversation.
My one complaint is that you can’t resize the video. Since most of my friends are on cable, bandwidth isn’t that big a deal. I’d like to be able to make the stream resolution bigger in the future.
