I would not discount someone “causing” you to change a registry entry.( actually – the two are intimately related )
Do you know ( or can you find out ) how to examine the registry?
If not … any friends who can?Let us know –
I don’t believe uninstalling is without “residue” for most apps.( you might just have a little “boogie” left at the end of it all )

If this is unproductive, I would suggest that it is an issue with either the cam’s driver, or its perception of the bandwidth of your connection.
If you installed the cam software from shrink-wrap, I almost guarantee that it’s at least 3/4 of a year outdated. Go to their website and get the latest for your OS (AND your specific cam) as a start.
If you have a low-bandwidth connection to the internet, that may also be an issue. Some drivers do not even allow what they know they cannot achieve (although you MIGHT be able to exchange a lower frame-rate for image size).

Keep in mind that jpegs & mpegs are already heavily compressed.
I wouldn’t count on zipping to compress them more than a handfull of %… and you just might end up being the next unhappy person …

I think you can only see the webcam if you click on the friend’s correct ID.

I’ll delete myself, then IM myself, then ignore myself, etc. (it’s complecated to do)
and I’ll determine whether the Iggy List is resistry-based, or within …Yahoo!* (the null-hypothesis means it’s on the servers, but I just don’t think so)
Anyway – another day … if nobody can tell the Iggy List, because they can’t get at files on your computer … in the long run, that’s a FEATURE!!!!!:D
Years ago we fielded a scientific software product whose name ended in “….Bell”. Needless to say, Ma Bell’s lawyers contacted us about the (to a lwayer) confusion that would result if we persisted with a name ending in “….Bell”.
There was no confusion, only lawyers that need to do something to show how important they are.
We got a lawyer, and the two sets of lawyers nicely bandied about, with no resolution in sight. How could they come to closure? They’re all being paid.
After several unproductive months, we finally decided to not pay any more – we’ll change the damn name.
When there was no more battle (or work) in sight for them, the Ma Bell lawyers decided that it really wasn’t confusing after all, and we could keep the registered name.
How can you tell the difference between a snake run over in the road, and a lawyer???
There’ll be skid marks before the snake.
