Not true any more! (Thanks to USB drives, though it has taken awhile.) Here is a short list to give anyone interested a good start.

Many, many thanks to KUDO for being such a wonderful person! I greatly appreciate you working around any mishaps with me. Thank you again for the invite. 😀
Lurking_BiohazardMemberI had the same problem when I went mobile. If I sent one from my phone I wouldn’t get an answer back from anyone unless they responed by mobile. It was really strange. Changing providers fixed the problem for me. 😉

A setup program is just as well a computer program as the program it’s installing. I find Lurking_Biohazard’s description much clearer, to be honest. 🙂As for the programs itself, there are so incredibly much… Which type of programs are you looking for?First off, TY my friend! I tried to make it as clear as possible…
Looking for a wide assortment of programs really. I find it a pain trying to work (or do anything!) on someone else’s computer and they don’t have or haven’t bothered getting/installing certain programs. I would like to burn a disk of various programs that I can take with me anywhere and don’t have to worry about changing someone’s computer. Mostly looking for utilities, but any would be welcome!
Lurking_BiohazardMemberBy “no install” I mean you can plop it in a folder and run it from anywhere.
Desktop, CD/DVD, etc. No installing the program.Lurking_BiohazardMemberWheel of Time series – Robert Jordan
Song of Fire and Ice series – George R.R. Martin
Death Gate series – Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman
1st & 2nd Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever – Stephen R. Donaldson (He is writing more books for this, BTW.)
There are many more, some of which have already been listed!

I’ve even gotten XP to go wonky!I may be a linux noob, but the more I learn about it, the more I like it.

Or you could install an operating system that is trojan- and virus-proof in the first place, like Fedora. 😉Ain’t that the truth. I have been trying out different “flavors” of Linux, and the more I learn, the more I like it.
