ParticipantOur gas has never gone above $2.10 per gallon it is currently $2.06 and goes a bit lower every 2 days. It’s mainly at $2.00 and usually before gas prices were raised it was always for a dollar and some cents. We can’t complain here though, since the news keeps saying we have the lowest gas prices out of all the states, i haven’t looked into that.

ParticipantIF its an alias you are using under a default id…When she scans the default id, you will appear on-line if you are logged onto a alias, but as has been said, finding the alias id’s name is still not known to be easily found but might be possible but not likey. And she’s not “smacking you” as was said, but yes, “talking smack.”

No problem, glad to be of some help. And yes i find it to be a very useful technique to keep weird people from bugging you non-stop.Nessa

He wouldn’t necessarily have to put you on permanent ignore if you’re not on his list. He could simply be doing what i do…I made a category of names of friends i want to be on-line to, so when i log on, i log on invisible mode then change the stealth settings to that one group, to “on-line”. ANYONE else would see me as being off-line. He could be doing this too, so there is no real way of knowing if you are on permanent invisible or he is using the technique i use.Nessa
ParticipantOkay i know this is an old thread, but i didn’t wanna start a new one since there is so many on this subject and i’ve tried all the options i’ve read. Okay well in yahoo game rooms i had always been able to view profiles to see game history, but for the past few days when i click on profile, it doesn’t even show up as a pop up with the yahoo pop up blocker. I recently did a system restore on my computer, but i had done this before and still been able to view the profiles. Any idea why this is happening?…i don’t wanna download any new browsers, since i’m used to Internet Explorer. Any help would be appreciated.

ParticipantGeez if i were the person who was paying the redneck i would have ended up joining my brother in jail soon…Cuz i would be like “I told you to REDUCE the charge”…And even though he did what was asked, “made it be manslaughter charges,” Anyone would still be mad to find out, they could have been released. And ended up doing some not so nice things which ends up in arrest. 😮

I agree with this, she probably messed up on whose phone number is whose, mainly because phones don’t magically call other phones. Glitches like that have not been known to happen. And i myself have listed someone else’s number under the wrong name before.:oNessa
ParticipantRabidKitten wrote:…And really, if it is only in case of emergencys like that, then why is it that it is deemed so much a distraction in the class room? Because people are feckign stupid enough to actually call it. Sure, ok, fine, a call for help, then there should be a way to make it purely outgoing and no incoming calls, or perhaps the idea behind having a phone in every classroom is enough. If you hear gunshots next door or down the hall, you’re going to have at least 5 rooms call the emergency out. Also, as to your point in having it on…if a family emergency arose where a child would need to be contacted, the office is where the call should go to. The parents call the office, the office makes an announcement during passing time or calls your room or sends someone down there to get you. At which time you go and use one of the many phones in the building. That way, you do not disrupt your class. And even lets say it was on vibrate and you excused yourself from the room to answer it. If you have a particularly dicky teacher who doesn’t trust you, who’s to say it was an emergency? And even then you would have to notify them that you were leaving and then notify the office, all of that, who would have to in turn recall whoever had called you…really it’s a run around. It cuts out so much of the hassle if the office is notified first, they send someone down to get you. Then the teacher is aware, the teacher believes you, the office knows what’s going on and you are removed without consequence.
I see little to no reason why cell phones should be anywhere with a child when in class. The only reason they should even be in the school building is if the child has after school activities and needs to phone someone for a ride home, in which case, once more, the school’s phones more than suffice.
Of course, this is high school I’m talking. College you have a sort of respectful right to do as you please but do so in a manner that does not disturb your class. The professor doesn’t give a flying fireman if you leave in the middle of class. High school teachers, 90% of their job is babysitting.
They are deemed a distraction simply because SOME students apparently don’t know how to use the silent features that comes with the phones. I personally never once called anyone during class time and only once answered when i had 20 missed calls from home, but even then i had teacher approval. Reason being my mom had tried to phone the school to alert me of a family emergency, but my high school made a big deal of not pulling us out for things like that. With me knowing was for me to be alerted to go pick up my brother after school and all. Not all high school’s believe in giving any type of message to a student, even if its “pick up your brother after-school.” You may say that’s what voice mail is for…….but back then on that old phone i had…Voice mail wasn’t one of the features i had access to, i didn’t know the password and the company wouldn’t give me a new one, no point in leaving me voice messages, cuz i never could hear them. Now-a-days, you are mainly right though, no use to have them in class, but when you have stict high schools like mine was, it becomes necessary to find other ways to be alerted. So for me it was on the basis of keep it on, but silent, and never answer or use it for personal calls. And as much as people try to prohibit them completely or try to force them to keep it off, you will always find some parent who is very attached to their child, who will fight against it, for whatever reason they can come up with or even make-up to use against the school, so i don’t see that happening any time soon. Everyone shouldn’t be punished for those people who don’t use the silent feature or that don’t follow the rules of no calling during class time…It ruins it for people who actually do follow…

ParticipantIthaca1937 wrote:…And as a general question to all of those that have there phones on during school. What is so important that you need your phone on while in class?Ever since the Columbine High School Massacre, it became a big deal for parents to let their children take cell phones to school with them…for fear of a similar occurence they could easily call for help. Yes, its true now-a-days most teachers have cell phones too, but out of personal safety, each person feels they should have one close by just in case. And as for having it on, if an emergency arose, you would be alerted, since if it was off, you wouldn’t know who called unless they left a voice message. They should definately be silent, but not off.

You are fully welcome to give your tempting reply, i’m sure all the women in this board would understand its all fun and games. I’m sure they would still see you as the gentleman you say you are. In the end like i said, no sex is really better, each person is different, be it male or female.gossipingrae wrote:It’s all fun and games. Exactly because most things they “come up” with wouldn’t be true:D , and trust me, i know that all girls are not better than guys just like i know all guys are not better than girls…Each person is different, i just liked reading reason number one. Since the whole story on Adam and Eve, it was Adam who was created first, so heck “save the best for last,” and “you don’t make the same mistakes you made on the first try,” no offense though. 🙂

ParticipantNot every 5 year old is weak, i am 19 yrs old and i have babysitted some kids who can be quite strong when it comes trying to restrain them from not hitting other kids. When a child gets into a tantrum, its not stopped easily, and like i said, the teacher or the police weren’t gonna hold the kid’s hands till she decided to calm down. Kids are different from what most people see them as being or think they should be, they not only are exposed to things faster, but learn how to be more violent faster too, not all, but most. Try tutoring at an elementary school like i did, the kids are more aggressive than you might remember or think they are.
