I dont know about erik_sic but I get booted alot. I’m assuming that is what they meant by the service sucks. But I do like the program and would recommend it. Thats how I stay in touch with my family. 🙂
prncssshckrMemberi just realized that my previous post was a little confusing. The person who installed my hdd has a high level of experience. This is the problem. When I try to play CD’s or MP3s on my computer they skip. But if i burn the MP3s onto a cd and play them by some other medium(ie a boombox or discman) they dont skip. That is how i know the mp3s themselves arent bad. When i play video games or cartoons in windows media player, they play fine. No skipping or anything like that. It is only when I try to play music that I have the sound problem. Is this clearer? I really hope so.
prncssshckrMemberI dont think its the hdd for this reason. I dl a cartoon by one of my fave guys and it runs fine. Doesnt skip or anything. And my video games run fine too. It just seems to be the music. CD’s and MP3’s. Both skip.
And moderators are not dumb..your there for a reason.
prncssshckrMemberI know. Thats just absolute crap to me too. I still have the email that he sent me. I checked the forums on his site and he claims that there is no bug in DeadAim that would cause it to happen. But so many people are having the same problem I am. I don’t know. I may just uninstall it.
prncssshckrMemberI did read the posts, and no I did not have an illegal copy before.
prncssshckrMemberThe hard drive is brand new. And as I have said earlier, the songs play fine when I burn them onto a CD. And my signature is my signature. The ‘stray’ T is for my name. When the songs skip, they act as if the computer is too busy doing something else.
prncssshckrMemberthanks. i’m really confused now though. it worked fine when i had my old hdds in. as soon as i put in this new one it started acting up. and the motherboard is almost brand new. less than a year old. but you think the soundcard on the board is busted?
prncssshckrMemberSo many questions to answer….
I am not running any memory intensive programs while tryin to listen to mp3s.
I am not downloading any mp3s either. (I use WinMx, not Kazaa.)
I installed Winamp and tried it. I have also tried using Windows Media Player. Neither one seems to help.
Yes, it shows all 512 as being available.
I just updated my virus scanner 2 days ago and ran a scan. The comp is clean. 🙂
I’m only using on average 4% of my CPU.Does this help any? I am so frustrated…I just want to listen to my music while doing homework without the music skipping.
thanks for the fast replies 🙂
prncssshckrMemberSorry about reviving this
Well my computer specs are this:
Windows XP Pro
200 gig hdd
512 mb ram
2 gig processorThe only background tasks I have running are AIM, PC-Cillin, and the mixer that came with my soundcard software. I have tried to update the driver but that only makes it worse. So I used the lovely rollback driver feature in XP. I have also checked to see if there were any software or hardware conflicts. There appear to be none. I am very confused as to why the sound skips as it does. I have burned some of the MP3s onto cds and played them in my cd player(not on my computer, but rather my discman) and they don’t skip or anything. So I know its a conflict with my computer. I’m just not sure where the conflict lies. Could it have something to do with the built in soundcard on my motherboard? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
prncssshckrMemberI’m having the same problem with the popup window. However I have a legal copy. I paid the $5 and downloaded the Setup Launcher and everything. But I still get the popup every 3-4 reboots. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Because I was on the J.Denis website and he is quoted as saying there is no flaw in DeadAim that would cause this to happen.
prncssshckrMemberSo no one’s posted here in a while, but i figured i’d try anyway… 🙂
I have the same problem with my music skipping. I have downloaded and used Winamp. I have also tried using Windows Media Player. But not only my MP3s skip. My cd’s skip when i play them in my cd player. I know i have sufficient ram (512 mb) so what could the problem be?
