MemberThe concept of AIM fight does imply that there is some way to figure out who has you on their list (at least at any given time). It seems you may have found a way to exploit AIM Fight at least a little. I wonder if AIM has any plans in the future to allow users to know who has listed them as a buddy.
What are everyone’s thoughts on this? Do you think you should be able to know who has listed you as a buddy or do you want to keep your buddy list private?

MemberIf you download the newest version of AIM and AIM Ad hack (google for it) you can disable the today window and several other things you don’t really need.

MemberIf you are certain that it is a problem with Norton I would try their customer support. They should be able (and hopefully willing) to help you.

MemberMight just be brief drops in the connection or by the server. Some of my friends on wireless connections drop out and come back right away all of the time. Sometimes I see them sign off and back on, sometimes it only shows them sign back on and sometimes it shows nothing. I think it depends on how long they were gone and what the refresh rate between all of the connections is (ie, they may be signing back on already by the time the server notices they left). Not sure if this is the problem you are having or not.

MemberI’m assuming they’ve told you when they were online and this is how you know that they are in fact on and you are not blocked. Make sure that they are visible and you are on their buddy list and not blocked. Have you tried using a different SN to see if they show up on that list? If they still don’t show up on a different SN, try a reinstall or using a different program. I don’t know too much about fixing technical problems but it may help other members if you list what you are running and exactly what the problem is and what you have tried so far.

MemberI believe the link slapshot posted was to the same site currently listed under the most useful AIM programs sticky.

MemberI believe the images are on each individual computer, so while you may be able to change it, it wouldn’t show up on your friends list.

MemberI use AIM with Ad hack (gets rid of extra junk) and Google Desktop (logging), if you add SMILEZ then you can have the tabbed windows as well.

Memberi would check your connection settings on AIM. downloading the new version might have caused them to change.

MemberI have a couple of SNs i rarely use and they all have @netscape.net accounts associated with them, so as far as I’ve experienced they do not deactivate. If you want AIM to stop checking your accounts, turn off that option and check them manually through a browser. That is how I check the one @netscape.net account I use.

MemberAd-on’s are nice, but you really do need to scale AIM down before you add stuff to it these days. Ad-hack is absolutely amazing for someone like me who has not yet taken the time to figure out reshack.

Memberthat may be the problem, but he said it happens when no one is using the computer, ie. he is not clicking on them. I do not know what would cause that.
