MemberI have the same problem with AIM 5.5,5.9 and 6.x.x.x series of AIM. I though maybe it was AIM having a problem with their servers, but this has been going on for the past month.
Mac users are having the same problems as well
Apple – Support – Discussions – Contacts appear online even after they …
This leads be to believe AIM has a problem with their servers and haven’t fix the problem yet. I find it hard to believe they are not aware of the problem.

MemberI have the Westell 327 also. I put the Westellmodem in bridge mode and now use a Linksys router to do everything else.
I had the same problem with AIM disconnecting and reconnecting and found it it was the modem that was doing it.
Look in the back of the modem and see if it is Made in the USA or China because the ones in China have a history of overheating which will restart the modem and kill the aim connection.

MemberI would go but I’m not really interested in gaming.
Isn’t there a computer expo also at the Javits Center once a year?

MemberSomething is wrong with your internet upload speed and not with AIM itself.
If you used to upload around 85-120 kbps, the upload test speed should be around 768 or so.

When I select ‘Buddy Info on All my Buddies’ it opens up AOL explorer, but only maybe 10% of the time does it show the Buddy’s info. Most of the time it just says ‘No buddy info was found for that selection. Please try another or check back later’. It’s been like this for many weeks.
Anyone know how to find the buddy info w/ Triton?
Thanks.Triton 1.0.3
WinXP SP2you were using this link, right?
http://buddyinfo.aim.com/away/away?filter=all&group=all&sort=updated&go=Go
I been having problems accessing the link the whole week. It doesn’t work for me in the morning and afternoon, but it does work at night. AIM must be doing something with their severs once again.

MemberI had the same problem last summer with AIM 5.2. I went into my AIM directory and noticed some files was missing (aim odl file, aimres.dll, aimcoresvcs.dll). I never deleted their files, but somehow AIM would delete them by itself after 2-3 days everytime I would re-install the program.
I went into the folder and put those files in “Read Only” mode and the problem went away.

MemberTriton does suck big. I hate how I have the AOL Explorer on the computer, hate how there are only 5 fonts to choose from, hate how there aren’t any background colors, hate how the buddies don’t gray out when they go idle, hate how there are too many menus and it looks so sloppy
The only neat feature about Triton is how the AIM chat and IM windows all are in the same tabs, otherwise AIM Triton is flat out garbage.
