MemberAVG free version is a fully enabled virus scan program, so yes.. If it finds the virus/trojan it can remove it for you.
It sounds like they are able to fully access your computer, from seeing your files to seeing your actual screen.. So its possible they could have gotten your name from anywhere on your computer.

MemberHow to send a fax with Windows XP… straight from Microsoft itself.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;306657&sd=techYou would need to install the windows component in Add/Remove programs if you don’t have it installed already (I currently don’t).
This uses a modem in your computer to dial the other number and send the fax (possible long distance charges if the destination is long distance)Sathallrin
MemberI’ve seen previews for Saw and it looks crazy.. Looking forward to seeing it. I hadn’t seen the Grudge yet, since I heard it was bad, but before this topic I haven’t heard anything about it… I’m probably gonna see it now since you all say its good.

MemberIt sounds like you got a trojan from them.. scr files are screensaver files, but they often can contain code to install viruses and trojans. You should do a full virus scan on your system. If you don’t have a virus scan program I would recomend downloading AVG free version which you can get from here: http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/1/
After you download it, I would suggest you unplug your internet connection so they can nolonger do things to your computer while you run a full virus scan on it.Sathallrin
MemberI found this neat program if you are running Windows 95/98/ME… http://www.fsm.nl/ward/
What it does is clear your history settings and tempory internet files that internet explorer fails to clear… It will also give you a complete listing of all URLs that your computer remember, this should solve your first question if you happen to be running one of those OS’s.Sathallrin
Member1. Ahh the history… well you could try going to C:Documents and SettingsLocal SettingsHistory (Windows XP/2000) and seeing if it shows up in there, and deleting it manually if it does.
2. True they could just use the invisible feature, try changing your password and see if it happens again. Also try running a full virus scan to see if your computer is infected.

Memberit actually should look like this:
[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional” /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptInIt changes the default from the Setup to your actual copy of windows.

MemberIf you uninstall yahoo messenger first, you *should* be able to uninstall the toolbar after. Then if you want to reinstall messenger, just make sure you don’t select the option to install the toolbar.

Member1. What search list are you talking about where it wont clear from? Somewhere on internet explorer?
2. It could be possible that it happened, you could try checking to see if your Yahoo ID is still online after it says “you’ve been signed off as you’ve been signed on on another machine.” Maybe by signing on another ID with that ID on its buddy list. If it is still online, then probably someone else managed to sign on it, if its not, then chances are its just a glitch in yahoo…
Either way, it couldn’t hurt to change your password just incase.Sathallrin
MemberNope, its part of the Yahoo protocol… currently, I believe only AIM has this feature.
