I’m still getting the Lost connection error sometimes when I’m online. I’m using the currnet version of AIM. Windows 98 SE and connecting with DSL.
Ok mine is fixed. On the options, Privacy, I had the last option on that window checked. When I unchecked it The display doesn’t change automatically. Hope that make sense.
I don’t have the reconnecting problem, but I do have the Connection Lost when I’m on AIM. I also am connected with DSL.
Ok I’m connected to AIM now. Wasn’t there used to be News on AIM and others on here? Also, doesn’t AIM have any outage information anywhere in a site or something?
I have the AIM icon on the desktop when I double click on that it will not automatically sign on. I have to type my password there. If that’s what you meant by “taskkill.exe /F /IM aim.exe”. If not then I have no idea what you meant. I forgot to mention I have an older version of AIM on my laptop and I have no problems there. I try to uninstall the late version and install it and still no luck, but the taskkill.exe /F /IM aim.exe and bat file kind of confuses me. I hope this make sense.
Whenever I click on sign off or Exit the sign on reapears back. It used to not do that. It used to sign off completly. This problem started I believe when they had the email thing started.
No, but I try to click on Exit the sign on screen comes up to sign me be back on I have to click on X. It used to sign me off completely, but now it doesn’t this problem started after they did the mail thing and after I disable the mail that’s when the problem started. Hope this make sense.
I think another way to find out if you were blocked or erased is go to your hotmail contacts and click on there nicks or emails and hit delete if it says: Deleting an MSN Messenger contact will remove the contact from Messenger too. Not sure if this is another way to check if your erased or block. Just a thought.
I just post a new post same question and after I posted it I saw this one. I check the msn block check. My friend is offline, it doesn’t say anything about been blocked or not just states there offline. So, how can I be sure if I’m blocked?

I have an old version of blackice 1.8.6.4 and messenger sometimes closes on me. Is the reason of blackice or not? I did not download the version from blackice homepage. I got this version from another web site about 4 years ago. I wrote to messenger and they told me I have to rebaseline it in order to stay on msn, but this version does not rebaseline it. This version is FREE for lifetime. Any suggestions what to do here in order to stay on messenger without closing?
I have 6.2 version and I have the same problem. It disconnects but it connects back when I hit connect. I have blackice firewall the old version. I emailed msn and they replied back that I need to rebaseline firewall to fix this problem. Well I can’t rebaseline it cause I have the old version. Don’t know what to do either. I didn’t download it from Network blackice website. I download it from free firewall site, and that was about 5 years ago. Anyway, like i said i have the same problem too and don’t know what to do.
I found out that blackice causes this. Have to rebaseline my computer, but I can’t because I have the old version of blackice 1.8.6.4 and can’t rebaseline it. I got that version from a website that was free. The webiste I got it from does not have upgrades. Don’t know what to do. I’m using Win98SE and IE6 btw. I have tried new version of Messenger and I keep getting the report window.
